"The Millionaire Effect."

Pretty building....LAME idea!!!!! Atleast with WWTBAMPI it had a little bit of 1. watchability for other guests and 2. gave you a chance to win something right then and there.

It seems we have some AI lovers :brick: here that love this idea, but really do you want to sit and watch a group of "singers" for XX minutes or go on attractions? Think about when one of your co-workers wants to sell you a ticket to his/her childs 5th grade play/music performance/sporting event. You don't really want to go because you know it is going to be BAD but you go because you fell guilty, are you really going to want go and invest any amount of time for people you have never seen before and will never see again.....oh unless they win the day and get to go on to the auditions and then get 2 seconds on the show before they tell them to stop singing.....5 months after you visited the park??????

BAD IDEA!

Add me to the HATE IT list. This is an attraction? If you ask me It's nothing more than a glorified karaoke bar!

As others have said this sounds like an attraction (I use the term loosely) that belongs over at Universal.

No, I don't really want to ride the Tower of Terror. I want to go see some dude from Dayton, Ohio sing "Livin' La Vida Loca" OFF KEY!!!!

Awww yeah! Now THAT is Disney fun!

And they don't even know you were there. I could see the 15 seconds they devote to the person after the interview with the judges:

"I'd like to also thank that really weird dude in the 3rd row for really believeing in me when I competed in the theme park. And the lady with the crying baby which made me take my vocals to the next level. I hope she got to go on Terror Tower with no problems!"

Yea, not really what I picture perfect.

Disney, Disney, Disney.

It's times like these that I just don't get what they're doing.

AMERICAN FREAKIN IDOL???

Way to create an attraction that will please audiences for generations!! Well, at least for years!! Maybe months...or more like days...well actually American Idol's on its last leg (hopefully...since most of the recent winners were never more than D-list celebrities).

What a magical attraction! What's the story? Great theme!

Sometimes Disney just sucks.

Were oh were is the disney magic in this attraction, please disney rethink think this we can only hope it will be gone this time next year. DHS could do so much better, i was really excited with the news of toy story mania and can only dream that maybe one day the muppets will get more attractions but why american idol its a pointless show.

Again, I really feel sorry for the 14 year old girl it's going to destroy. I only hope that in the end, they realize what a horrible mistake this really is. This is not thinking in the magical box. This is thinking, quick buck.

I could be wrong, but I think that one of the major reasons for this attraction is the publicity it will get for the resort and the park specificially, with a recent name change no less ;). Just reading the article on E! among other sites, I think this is why the attraction was given the green light. As others have said, I doubt this attraciton will be around in 10 years, but I don't think that's the point.

The point is Disney is devoid of magic when it creates garbage like this. What freaking publicity does WDW need? Do they think people are going to make a special trip to MGM (oops...DHS, which obviously stands for Disney's Horrible Studios) just to try-out?

Audience Guy: YOU SUCK LADY!!

CM: Excuse me, sir. Please don't insult the other guests.

AG: Sorry, chap. LADY GET OFF THE STAGE. YOU SOUND LIKE A CAT THATS DROWNING!!

CM: Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave! Call security!

AG: What's the matter? I'm just giving her a bit of the ol' Simon Cowell treatment. This is American Idol, isn't it?

CM: Well, err...

AG: HEY THE FAT LADY'S SUNG!! CAN WE ALL LEAVE NOW?!

MY POINT EXACTLY... just replace the lady he's mocking with a teen girl. Now crying. Or even that lady crying. Running out screaming she'll never come back and then filing a lawsuit like a month later.

FYI... Since the winner each day gets an audition at idol... They would have an age limit to start with... maybe 18 years old or 16 years old through a certain age limit since idol has a age limit for auditioning.

Still... how would they stop us from cheering the bad singers ;)
-how long untill we get a bunch of people voting for the worst just like in real life-

The Sentinel article suggested that winners over the age limit might be able to trade their "front of the line pass" (whatever that means) to a younger relative.

What a magical place. They remind you that you're not in the hip age category. "You can't participate in this pop-culture phenomenon you old fart. Give us your teenage daughter, instead."

Part of me thinks this is the saddest day in Disney theme park history. Then the other part of me thinks it's so funny that Disney's whoring itself out like this. It is pretty sad for the idealistic fans who really believed that Disney still valued creativity and imagination. But how many of us still believed that?

this is one of the worst ideas Disney has ever had. It is going to be popular for about 6 months then just die. It is going to be exactly like Who wants to be a millionaire.
