All Magic Kingdom, All the Time (aka Has Disney given up on Space Mountain?)

Well, they have some very awesome chrome metalwork all around the Land. Sometimes I believe that our TL might have too much going on color wise.

The colors are fun to look at. I have to admit, as far as astes in color go, that I would be depressed looking at silver and chrome all day. I think if ours does receive a much needed update, it should be like Discoveryland.

Gotta admit, still looks awesome at night though :)..

And that is the true saving grace.;)

Hmmm...Maybe combine the two looks? Colors from Discoveryland, neatness from TDL, Retro aesthetics from WDW?:lookaroun:lol:

I really hope they don't get into the theming style of DL's. Their realistic look on the future is ugly, boring, and unnecessary. The 50's style theme to New Tomorrowland is exactly what Disney needs, fantasy. Epcot's future world is focused on Innovation and that is how it should stay, not trying to make a Dl Tl clone here in Walt Disney World. The new theme is a great oppurtunity for creativity instead of looking at a future that could happen. Because of this ours has less chance of being outdated, considering it is a work of the imagination. Dl's Tomorrowland can easily become outdated when something changes. (Innoventions as an example)
The current DL Tomorrowland aesthetic is on it's way out.:animwink:

DHS

:xmas:

I can't tell you how much I love this idea. It really should be for all guests not just a seperate ticket. And DHS has several venues that could really present a magical show. I could see them using the Fantasmic arena by using a specially built floating stage or the LMA space by rolling in a stage at night. Or, if not quite that popular, they could use the BatB stage.

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!

Well, that's good. The current look is okay, its certainly an improvement over the UGLY 98 redo with the gold and brown colors. :hurl: But I'd like to see it get a look similar to WDW's.

Wasn't there already an "All Magic Kingdom all the time" thread a while back?

Isn't thee already a MK all the time thread?

Yes there was... There was also Animal Kingdom and DHS threads as well... And how many posts of, WASN'T THERE A THREAD LIKE THIS ONCE BEFORE do we need? LOL...

As for what the OP stated, all seem like wonderful ideas... Of course, I hope they happen but won't hold my breath.. Marni's comment makes it seem better though :)

Why would you make this thread if you don't know what the ride is going to look like after the refurb? You don't know if disney is going to work extra fast to put it on disneyland's SM level!
It just doesn't make sense to me.Disney has not given up on space mountain because why would it be in refurb right now?!?!

I will just keep wavin

There seems to be some confusion so i'm gonna try to break it down.

The "new tomorrowland" Disney created for Disneyland in 1998 was a poorly concieved, under funded, hode podge mixture of the following:

- Tony Baxter's desire to bring some of the stuff they cooked up for Euro Disneyland home to Anahiem. I guess his team felt that since Discoveryland (tomorrowland in paris) was based on old victorian ideas of the future. It wouldn't have to worry . The Astro Orbitor, Rocket Rods, and that really ugly cheap brown, chrome and gold paint that was sprayed EVERYWHERE in the land stems from this.

- Michael Eisner's vision of Tomorrow (aka "The Montana Future") he felt tomorrowland should represent a future where people are one with nature and live away from the big cities and use computers and new technology to do work. Looking back it was actually somewhat visionary of him. This is the reason Tommorowland has vegitables and fruits growing all over the place and the phony rockwork blocking the enterance.

- An attempt by imagineers to incorporate elements from the better plan to upgrade Disneyland's Tomorrowland (called project TL 2055). That prop on top of the rocket jets platform, the music loop, and the replica of the moonlander are based on far better concepts from TL 2055.

Naturally this "new" tomorrowland was a huge failure (the first of many for Disney). So in 2005, Matt Ouimet and the imagineers decided they were going to start over and slowly get rid of this hodgepodge land and start turning it into a real Tomorrowland again. This new Tomorrowland is supposed to be a hybrid of a modern sci fi view of the future with some elements of Walt's 60s Tomorrowland. The land is now being repainted in Blue, White, and Silver and the logos and designs are changing to become more modern. The Astro Orbitor is currently being repainted as we speak and from the pics ive seen it looks alot better. The 2005 version of Space Mountain, Buzz, Nemo Subs, and Star Tours 2 are supposedly part of a larger project to revamp the whole land and remove all elements of "victorian tomorrowland".

Now what this means for Magic Kingdom is another story. Some people here have been suggesting there are plans to change up florida's Tomorrowland (and with stuff like Stitch, Buzz, and MILF boy do they need to). So far here is what we know:

-Space Mountain is under rehab. Will the themeing be different and if so will it reflect the current land or something else?
-A new lamppost was added last year somebody posted a pic of it on this site and other members (I think it might have been Lee?) suggested that this is a sign of new themeing coming to the land.
- There are plans for the area where the Galaxy Plaza Theater used to sit and the skyway station
- COP could possibly be recieving a makeover within the next couple of years

It's either this or we end up with endless Lone Ranger and Stitch threads. Not to mention the,"Where are they going to put Mickey's Night Before Christmas Show now?", threads.

Exactly I was kinda hoping that this thread would be the one stop shop for all things Magic Kingdom. Mainly focused on new attraction rumors, news and updates. I selected the title as a nod to the popular Epcot Center thread.
