All Magic Kingdom, All the Time (aka Has Disney given up on Space Mountain?)

This thread should have been called MK all the time has Disney given up on TL. I think that they show no sign other than the SM refurb of fixing TL at all!

The one thing that I loved about DL was there was no Stich anywhere in the parks, besides meeting the character himself.

*sigh*

A oasis in the insanity...

I think the SGE will be gone in a few years. They're not going to close it while SM and TTA are down. SGE does not seem very popular so I wouldn't be surprised it Stitch doesn't move over to the Tiki room.

No I mean yes tfat he will leave TL but I'd much rather the TR be restored to it's original state.

But to replace the SF-Treehouse with a pirate ship is a HUGE mistake as it would change the entire character and appearance of the land, it would not be Adventureland any more but the already mentioned "Pirateland". And we have the Carribean Plaza for that already!

I have no idea where you got this from...because it isn't happening.

There is also another rumor that everyone seemed to forget about that I believe had some truth to it and that was the Adventureland redo. Basically the story goes that if Harry Potter is the big sucess that we all know it will be then Disney will quickly greenlight a major overhaul of Adventureland that would include:

- A new version of Tokyo's Raging Spirits
- Swiss Family Treehouse replaced with the massive husk of a pirate ship
- New version of Tiki Room
- Updates to Jungle Cruise
- More changes to Pirates of the Carribean
- Veranda being reopened with a pirates overlay

So basically it would become a land heavily influenced by the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Personally im not too keen on it but if it means getting rid of Aladdin carnivale spinners and tiki room under new management and doing a proper refurb to POTC then SIGN me up immediatly!

End of quote.

Hmmm, missed that one. I know about the Pirates refurb, JC OVERhaul(and I mean overhaul, everyone would love it), the Tiki room, and Verranda.

The treehouse rumor is bunk as far as I'm concerned. Only thing I've ever heard regarding it would be involving a JC extension. As for Raging Spirits, I hope that is nothing more than a rumor. There are much better choices out there for an expanded AL.

It was a concept at one time when Harry Potter was first announced and the Pirates franchise was still all the rage. Probably won't happen but you never know. I do think MK needs something really big, expensive, and bold but nothing tacky (the wand that was at epcot, the hat at MGM).

It seems like the imagineers really want to do a major project at MK but management and TDO are blocking them. How to unblock? It's just a matter of waiting until ticket sales decline by a significant amount at the MK.

Sorry, if I have to say it 100 times I will. TDO has little say on major additions and capital spent on large scale new attractions. They can suggest but that is about as far as it goes.

WDI can want all they want to but ultimately it is not their decision. Never has been.

Ehhh, yes and no. TDO has a huge amount of pull when it comes to what is built. Can they be easily overruled by the higher higher ups if need be? Yes, but without TDO's pull, new attractions aren't going to get the budget they need.

I believe you are describing the world pre-reorganization. Pre-"Onedisney".
All roads lead to Glendale now.

As I said in a previous post, I believe everyone at TDO could bounce their way to Glendale on pogo sticks to prove their desire for a new project and I'm not sure it would matter.

The only person with real influence may be Rohde. But even that may have been diminished by all the whining about Everest by the on-line community. And some of those whiners know this and yet persist. Which is why I have little respect for them.

All IMHO of course.

I hope you're right. In due time we shall see. I've become more and more optimistic the past few months, but the fact that Rasulo is still the head honcho keeps me grounded.

Also, is there any, possible way we can get Dumbo from DL's magical over to the east coast. OMG! That thing is incredibly cute, and I got goosebumps from a youtube video of it.

Sounds very nice, but isn't the RFID Fantasyland redo rumored to come first?

(And hopefully for the 40th?)
