All EPCOT Center, All the Time- Part II

Got it :) ... I will say that I agree to disagree with you. The Living Seas was one of my favorites. Wanted to go into Marine Biology as a kid, but realized I was terrible at science, so I wound up going into one of the creative fields instead. Thanks for the free pass. This site is terribly addictive.

I'm not saying I like the overlay more than old Sea Base Alpha, but it worked, and that's all you want if you're Disney.

And yes, this site can be quite addictive.

Things like HM and HoP/LS keep me optimistic.

Absolutely! Or the repainting of UofE, getting Innoventions back on track, etc. Someone there gets it. It's just going to take time.

I also noticed this lack of care. But part of me thinks that I just notice it now because I am older. Just like how when I was younger I couldn't tell that the Cranium Command, World Showcase movies, etc. were dated because I didn't know anything about clothing styles or anything. I don't understand the reasoning behind letting an attraction go to hell either. If they're looking for new sponsors, what potential sponsor wants to sponsor a dilapidated attraction?

I was just thinking over the same thing myself, and your probably right, I notice more wrong in my old age than I use too, it could also be because I am spending the money on the vacation, and not mom and dad. :)

I just thought to myself "how the hell did y'all pay for this every year." Mom said that's why we had so many garage sales every year. :)

The older I get, I do like EPCOT. Even though we all like to complain about how good "it used to be" and how great Horizons and World of Motion were, I still think that both attractions would be laughable now. Horizons was getting that way before it closed. I mean it was still an awesome ride with tons of detail put into it, but it was hard to take seriously as "the future" in 1999, let alone in 2009.

I think I said the exact same thing to my parent's after my last trip, we would either stay in one of the cabins at fort wilderness, or the caribbean beach resort as a kid, staying at the wilderness lodge with the girlfriend when we go as adults.

I agree, Horizons, for as cool as it was, was getting long in the tooth. I'm not saying they should have done what they did, but a 21st century update would have been nice. Im curious to see what kind of attraction Epcot will get for the 40yr anniversary, if any.

I think they will call security because they are not used to guests uttering the "O" word. :lookaroun

Ohes noes.
Did you ever visit The Living Seas when it was in good shape? Before the Nemo overlay. For the first 5 years it was great, then they let it fall into a shape of dis-repair. The theming was exceptional.

Im not disagreeing with you that it gets a lot of traffic now, but it's so far from the original vision of Future World that it doesn't fit. The aquariums are in the same place, yes, but the exhibits and aquatic life in them are Nemo centered, and have been dumbed down to an extent. Trust me if you had seen The Living Seas as it was years ago, you might agree with me. All it needed was some updates to bring it back up to speed with the world, not a Pixar overlay.

I don't hate Nemo, I think it's a great film, I just don't understand what it's doing in Future World, but if you can enlighten me as to why, I am willing to listen.
Right...Disney has a horrible habit letting things go stale and become boring. See PI. See Horizons. See EPCOT Center.

I really hope Epcot gets a good attraction for the 40yr anniversary.

Great! :)

In all honesty, I never really cared for the Wonders of Life pavilion. Body Wars was kinda neat (that whole idea of being shrunken down to go into the body always intrigued me), but the rest of the pavilion I couldn't care less about. I always thought it was tacky looking on the inside, and somewhat reminiscent of a 90s mall food court.

Basically, a great idea, but somewhat lousy execution as far as the pavilion itself.

He does. And not as long as you may think.
So...Mr. Crockrell has plans for the future? Or is it someone else?

I won't give the obvious response that I know the rest of the site is thinking...:lookaroun:lol:

Very nice!

I agree, WoL was kinda odd and separated from the rest of EPCOT, but CC was a stellar AA Attraction. That, I miss.

Yeah, now that I think about it, does anyone else remember those flamingo tenders they served at Animal Kingdom for a while? :lookaroun

Cool scan, I remember Body Wars being so cool and i used to think I was being really shrunk down to go into the body. CC was amazing too.

What should the next WS country be?

I think a Brazil pavilion would be cool with an amazon river boat ride or a EMV truck ride like DINOSAUR in the rain forest or a EMV boat ride through the amazon.
