Heck no! While the song was written for the Millennium Celebration, it still has a very nice (and EPCOT Centric) message!:D:sohappy:

I love that song. It makes me think of the Millenium Celebration promotional VHS, which is what sent my family to EPCOT for the first time.

Although it won't make complete sense with the new scenes added, it would stand to reason that the current set up of Spaceship Earth would allow them to bring back old narrations. After we choose English, we should then be able to choose which narration of the ride we want to listen to.

I know, I was totally thinking about that. Imagine on the language selection screen, there could be the original Spaceship Earth logo as an easter egg in a corner or something, if you touch it, the screen changes to allow you to choose between Vic Perrin, Walter Cronkite, and Jeremy Irons. It'd be great, because it would only be something you'd have access to if you already knew about it. If they really wanted to go all out with it, they could make the BGM purely out of the speakers in the Time Machine, so that you'd be able to experience the music of each version (or the near-silence of the Vic Perrin version :lookaroun), and they leave the touch screen on to display the differences in the ride from today. It'd take some effort, but it's certainly achievable, and would be major brownie points for Disney and Siemens in the eyes of Disney park aficianados.

I know, and it would be SO easy. Just digitize the old narrations, load them into the Time Machine computers just like the foriegn language narrations, do the graphics and touch screen programming, and BAM!!! Instant good PR with the Disney fans. If they could track her down, they could even rerecord the AT&T bits with something similar for Siemens with the same lady.

They could definately track her down, over the years they changed this safety spiel numerous times using the same voice.

Eg "AT&T Welcomes you aboard Spaceship Earth....."
"Welcome aboard Spaceship Earth....."
and even when the Siemens signs first went up before the big rehab "Siemens welcomes you aboard Spaceship Earth....."

So she is still around as of two maybe three years ago.:)

Assuming masters of Perrin and Cronkite still exist.

You`d be shocked at how much they don`t have.

I would simply delight in hearing "The people of Siemens thank you for traveling through Spaceship Earth and look forward to serving you in the Information Age. For a look at today's Information Age technologies, we invite you to visit (supposed Siemens exhibit coming to Innoventions) in CommuniCore West."

Well, then, all they'd have to do is track down that Martin guy... :D

I've thought of this idea as a very good one as well, the only minor issue is that not all of the show scenes match up correctly with the narration anymore. Honestly I haven't directly compared them though, so maybe it won't seem as off as I'm thinking it could.

Still, I would be VERY happy if this was a possibility.

I think that wouldn't be too big of a deal, as anyone who would know that those narrations are there to choose from (presuming that it would be a hidden easter egg) would more or less know what changes the scenes have gone through over the years.

Perhaps even re-recording the Jeremy Irons and Walter Cronkite narrations over the scenes that have changed since their recordings (Vic Perrin is no longer with us). I'd even be content with going into Judy Dench's narration for those scenes, and back to the previous narrations.
