Is there a list of the current loop of Fountain of Nations show songs? Are they played in a certain order?

The engineering staff down in EPCOT Computer Central actually choose the show every fifteen minutes. My best friend (PixieTinkerbell) has actually got to pick the show before!

MUSIC:
Instrumental from the "Air Battle" sequence
- from Surprise in the Skies, a former daytime lagoon show at EPCOT Center
(Soundtrack was never produced for retail sale)

"Day One"
- by John Tesh
(Song is available on the Tour de France and Live at the Red Rock albums)

Main title selection from the Disney live-action feature film Iron Will
(Soundtrack was never produced for retail sale; the video is still currently available)

"Mickey's Finale" selection from a proposed EPCOT Center show, Around the World with Mickey Mouse
(Soundtrack was never produced for retail sale)

Selection from Disney's animated feature The Rescuers Down Under
(Soundtrack is not currently available for retail sale; the video was taken off the market in April 1993)

Selection from the Disney live-action feature film, The Rocketeer
(Soundtrack is not currently available for retail sale; the video was taken off the market in April 1998)

"Standing in Motion" by Yanni
(Song is available on the Out of Silence, In Celebration, and Live at the Acropolis albums)

what is the descent???

The descent is the end of SSE where you travel backwards.

what is all this even about???

:ROFLOL:

If we are speaking of this thread in general - well, I dont think anyone can answer what this thread is about exactly...

anything, everything, and nothing all at the same time may be acceptable answers.

I hope I cleared that up for you... :lookaroun

The descent is the last section of Spaceship Earth, once you've reached the top scene with Earth in space (known as 180top), and your Time Machine vehicle rotates backwards. The descent has been updated with each new version of Spaceship Earth, in 1986, 1994, and now 2007(ish). What we've been discussing (off and on) in this thread (originally titled "Has Disney given up on Spaceship Earth?") are a set of ongoing changes in this area of the ride we've been noticing since it reopened in November of 2007. We're expecting a (more or less) final set of changes soon that would introduce some type of show scene and/or effects to supplement the touch screen video inside your Time Machine vehicle. There are also strong indicators from some of the inside sources on this site that along with these additions will be the return of Tomorrow's Child, the theme song for Spaceship Earth from 1986-1994, which is fondly remembered by a majority of us.

That is what the thread was originally about, as it continued along, it turned into just general EPCOT musings, and was renamed "All EPCOT, All the Time." That inspired others to create similar threads (All Magic Kingdom, All the Time, etc.) but you'll notice that none of them are even on the first two pages anymore.

To get a good description of the descent how it was in its incarnations from 1986-1994 and 1994-2007, check out this thread: Spaceship in Spaceship Earth. If you read it all, we might even let your join the 180top club!

What kind of show scenes/music can they add with the new Jib-Jab style videos in the attraction vehicles?

Don't forget Celebrate the Future! I think that's my favorite.

Thanks.

I know Celebrate the Future Hand in Hand was in the loop. Was it taken out?

There was the musical selection from the forgettable Disney film Iron Will as well.

That's posted in my list:

I would love to see the theme to The Incredibles dancing to the water in the Epcot fountain.

Personally, I'd love to see shows made out of some of the classic EPCOT Center theme songs. They're all about the right length, and some of them are just great material for a great show, like the Energy songs.

Last time I checked The Rescuers Down Under and The Rocketeer are still in print on DVD. Cool that they use those soundtracks though (bought Rocketeer's on CD at DTD Virgin a couple years ago, RDU was re-released in 2002 and went OOP in 2004).
