AI: Season 6

This show is going to be so predictable....Chris will go home tonight, Lakisha next week, then it's a crap shoot between Blake, Melinda, and Jordin for the win.

I was thinking the same thing. Unless someone just completely screws up, the final three this year are Blake, Jordin, and Melinda and anyone can win it. These have been the best 3 BY FAR all year long.

Grown men should not sing soprano.
Respectfully, there are three ways for males to sing that high:

- Soprano is generally sung by pre-pubescent boys.
- Falsetto is what you heard tonight.
- Castratto is sung by men who have been, um... altered. :lookaroun

Phil didn't deserve to go tonight, he's managed to perform very well for the last three weeks. I think Lakisha should have gone... But she will next week... There's nothing she could possibly pull off in next week's genre.

I was fine with Chris and Phil going. Even though Phil was improving each week, he began with such a small fanbase that he was never going to catch up to the others. Chris should have gone a long time ago.

I'll be interested to see if the contestants will be limited to BeeGees songs only, Gibb-written songs, or anything from the 70's. My guess is they'll be allowed anything with a Gibb attached to it in some way. My predictions:

1. The girls will all fight over who gets to sing "If I Can't Have You", made famous by Yvonne Elliman, but written by Barry Gibb.
2. Upon hearing "Nights on Broadway", one or more of the contestants will admit that they thought the song was just the theme to the Barry Gibb Talk Show on SNL and not a real recording with other words.
3. Blake will do "Jive Talkin'". Count on it.
4. LaKisha will get the boot.

Very glad to see Chris go. Even though Phil has been improving, it was his time.

It's going to be Lakisha next week.

Too bad the Idol Tour will be super boring this year with nothing but Divas in the finals... Well except Blake... At least he'll keep it interesting... I'm sure Blake and Chris will do some duets much like Chris and Elliot did last year... But Divas are boring...

I don't know that I would put Jordin into the Diva category. She's very versatile (um, except for Bon Jovi songs :lookaroun )

That's all true, but that still doesn't mean they should sing that high. Thank God for picture-in-picture so that I could switch to a baseball game.

Agreed on Phil--he really did a good job with that song. Maybe his vote total was so low from the week before that he couldn't recover. As for Lakeisha, she will probably try and do a Donna Summer song and then wait to be voted off the next night.

Thanks, I was making a joke. As a singer, I know the difference between soprano and falsetto. I've just never heard an entire song sung in falsetto since Tiny Tim was on the Johnny Carson show, and that was intended as humor. I kept expecting Thicke to change into his full voice at some point. It would have added some interest to the vocal, and made the whole song less painful.

I was expecting the same... It was horrible. Oh, and I was just taking advantage to squeeze in the "castratto" joke of my own... :lookaroun
