Sanjaya is gone, woohoo!!!!!!!:sohappy:

I think Blake will win and have said that since the first show I saw him on this season, even with his beat box stuff lol. I don't know why but he reminds me of Sting.

Hi..

I agree with ya about Phil. He's come a loooong way and should get the 'most improved' trophy. He's really loosened up a lot and it's made a huge difference in the way he connects with the audience. Also, he's really helped himself by his song choices which fit his style perfectly.

But I tend to disagree with ya about Blake. I find it very refreshing to see a young person willing to throw caution to the wind and own a song with their unique style. When Melinda was singing, the first thing I thought of is that she sounded (and acted) like Tina Turner...so I asked myself if the world needs another Tina Turner. Maybe it's because I lived thru an era when there were plenty of 'fantastic' voices like Melinda and Lakisha and, to me, that sound is worn out.

No, I do agree with you there-- it just wasn't my personal cup of tea. I think what he did was very admirable and brave and sets him apart as an artist, not just a nice voice. However, if that version came on in the car, I'd change the station

Alrighty....

Phil - Meh. Not horrible. Still don't like him.
Jordin - Poor thing. Really had a bad night. Still love her.
LaKisha - Kiki's back!! :sohappy: :sohappy: Don't know if she'll be safe tonight, but I hope so.
Chris - It was just bad.
Blake - It wouldn't have been bad without that beatboxing! I hate it!
Melinda - Pretty good. Not the greatest thing ever, but better than Jordin.

I heard a rumor that next week's mentor is Barry Gibb and they'll be doing Bee Gees songs. I might actually be familiar with some of these!!!!
Oh dear god, kill me now! No offense, but I am getting sick of all these "old people" music themes. Can't we have something fun like 80's or 90's music night? Or how about like last year where they had to pick a song on the current charts? But yeah if they do the Bee Gees then, no, just no....

You disappoint me

If it is Bee Gees night, I can't wait!!! :sohappy:

I didn't like last year's "songs from the new millenium" because the songs from this millenium aren't as great as last millenium :lookaroun

I thought some of the best performances from last year were from that week: Kat's "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree", Elliott's "Home", and Paris with "Be Without You". Oh well, I guess we disagree on this...

This show is going to be so predictable....Chris will go home tonight, Lakisha next week, then it's a crap shoot between Blake, Melinda, and Jordin for the win.
