Richard! The new Murphy beds in the refurb'd Alligator Bayou rooms! Are they like a regular length bed? Looking at pics I just can't tell. I'm curious if my youngest would fit and for how long. My oldest probably not because he's as big if not bigger than me now. My youngest is still thin as a rail but he's sprouting up taller by the day.

Totally loving the report(s)! Keep em coming. Pics, too!

The new pull down beds in Alligator Bayou are a good size for children. They are not as long as a regular length bed.

They've done a great job with the refurb there! The queen beds fit in the room nicely, and don't make it cramped like I feared they might, and the fold down beds are a great bonus! Remember, while we were able to see a refurbished room, the updates at all of Port Orleans continues, and a new room, with queen bed cannot be guaranteed at this point.

The beds will comfortably fit a small child. I would say if they are 5 foot or taller that they will be bait cramped on it. The mattress is approx. The same size as the old trundle bed size from the bayou rooms.

Thursday, January 19th –

I’ll start with Day one for Jenell and I! Sorry, I’m slow compared to the other agents! It’s going to take me forever to go through all these pictures!

Jenell (Grumpyswife) and I live about an hour and a half away from each other so she drove to my house and we took off for Dulles together. Our flight there was uneventful, very unlike our flight home, more on that later. When we landed, the pilot did point out Air Force One which was taxiing on another runway. We just missed you, Mr. President!

We picked up our bags and walked down to DME. There was no line and we walked right on to the bus. The bus left immediately and we were on our way!! We were texting Pam and company the entire way. They were at Epcot so they were going to meet us at the Beach Club.

When we finally got off the bus, we had Kingdom Konsultants waiting for us! A Beach Club CM tried to escort us up to the concierge lounge but he had lots of help!

I must confess, I’ve never stayed concierge before!! It was amazing! Oh my word! I had no idea how much we’ve been missing out on! Having ice cold coke cans whenever I wanted, sigh. That was the best! I drank my weight in coke over the next few days. And breakfast! And Oreo BonBons? Yes please. Seriously awesome.

Sweetpee will appreciate my “Golden Ticket”:

TrainingPart1047.jpg

We dropped off our stuff and got ready to go to Chef Mickeys.

Here’s our room:

Bounceback!

TrainingPart1048.jpg

Our bus was there almost immediately and we were off to the Magic Kingdom! Well, actually to the Contemporary via a walk from the Magic Kingdom.

Chef Mickey’s!

TrainingPart1055.jpg

We took an agent picture which Marie posted in her link above. We were all there except Richard who was stuck in traffic at this point.

Here’s Jess and Missy!

TrainingPart1056.jpg

During dinner, Pam told us her first surprise! Richard Petty tomorrow! Woo hooo! Dh and Ds would be so jealous!

I didn’t take a picture of my plate because it was a disaster! Let’s just say that half of it was mashed potatoes.

I did take pictures of some of my favorite desserts though!

After dinner most of us walked over to the Magic Kingdom.

TrainingPart1069.jpg

We debated Dole Whips as we walked by them, but after all that food at Chef Mickey’s, there was no way! We walked on to Pirates and then walked back to Splash.

We stopped for a few pictures of the parade. Can you see it coming back there?

TrainingPart1074.jpg

Let me just say that Main Street was a zoo waiting for it to start. Back by Splash however, there were probably 50 people between there and the Hall of Presidents. It was completely empty and the parade was going! If you can’t find somewhere to sit on Main Street, definitely walk back there.

Next we all rode Haunted Mansion. Then we decided to cut through Fantasyland. We stopped for Peter Pan on the way. Did anyone read the latest Peter and the Starcatchers book? I will never look at the Peter Pan ride the same way again.

Right when got exited, Wishes was starting. I loved the views from Fantasyland. No one was back there either!

TrainingPart1114.jpg

TrainingPart1120.jpg

After Wishes we headed to the busses and caught a ride back to the Beach Club. Not without a stop for cokes and to see what snacks concierge had in store for us!

Big day tomorrow!

I'm loving this review. I have to ask, is this a special AEP you arranged just for your agency? Is this doable? And can you pick the things you want to tour? I went on a regualr AEP, and it was good fun (Tommy was our guide too), but I think it would be awesome to get one for just our agency.
One thing we were disappointed about AEP was that we didn't get to do any of the special tours. Though, don't get me wrong, we were very busy the whole time.

I know many of the agents have already started details of our trip. I picked a few pictures you might be interested in, and I’ll give you a brief narrative.

I flew into Orlando International Airport Thursday morning. There was barely a line at the DME counter(at around 10am), and I was the first one in line for the bus to my resort area!

And I always need one of these shots heading into the World!

jan12037.jpg

I met up with Pam, Heather, and Jessica at The Beach Club. I’ve been there for dinner several times, but have never stayed there. We were definitely spoiled by staying concierge! The cast members are extremely friendly and helpful. Here are some photos I took at the resort.

Stormalong Bay….Even more amazing in person than I expected. I had walked by many times before but was never inside the pool area since they check resort cards at the entrances.

We headed to Epcot via the International Gateway. It is super-convenient to those staying in the Boardwalk area resorts!

After that, I finally made it into The Magic Kingdom. I’m not sure why, but I didn’t REALLY feel like I was at WDW until I was walking down Main Street USA!! Maybe because entering Epcot through the International Gateway is a much different experience than entering through the main gate. Anyway, I was excited all over again!
We saw the Main Street Electrical Parade from near Splash Mountain. It was a lot less populated than Main Street. Definitely a great place to watch from!
jan12049.jpg

Then we headed to The Haunted Mansion. This was a treat for me for two reasons. 1-It’s the first I had been able to ride since the new queue had opened. 2-I was actually able to ride it! I have two young daughters who are too afraid to enter!
Here are Danielle and I getting into the “spirit”
jan12050.jpg

And here’s me with Master Gracey’s tombstone. I’m so excited that the stone has been moved to a location where I was able to get a photo right next to it! My oldest daughter’s name is Gracey, and she always wants a picture of “her” stone, even though she won’t go inside the mansion.
jan12051.jpg

We finished off the night watching Wishes from Fantasyland. My family always likes to watch from this point of view at least once during our trips. Being surrounded by the fireworks is such a neat experience.

Our first stop bright and early Friday morning was the raceway. We thought we were going to participate in the Richard Petty Driving Experience, which would have been great, but we were all surprised to find out that we would be taking part in the Exotic Driving Experience instead, which had just opened the week before.

I normally have had trouble with motion sickness, and this was no exception, but I didn’t want to miss out on the fun! After suiting up with helmets (the coveralls are not required as they are with the stock cars), we selected what cars to ride in. In order to offer this experience, Disney has built a new road course for the cars to drive on. You start on the oval track, and then zip through the zig-zag road course. Super-Fast, Super-Fun!

If you are like me, and have trouble with motion illness, have no fear! The drivers are great and will let you know that they can slow down or take it easy at any time! Everyone of the appropriate age and size can enjoy this! I had a bit a headache after, but only because I told the driver not to let up!
Here’s Tammy!
jan12065.jpg

We also got to check out the garage where they work on the stock cars for the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
jan12066.jpg

And they have a hidden Mickey, too!
jan12067.jpg

Next stop was Disney’s Contemporary Resort. We toured through their beautiful suites, and I took some photos of the awesome views available. If you can afford it, it’s absolutely worth the upgrade to a Magic Kingdom view! These are all taken from rooms at the Contemporary.

We also had a cast member on the Concierge floor confirm that the rooms will still be undergoing an update, even though the wellness suites have been cancelled. We will need to stay tuned for that! Be aware, this is from a cast member, and is NOT official word from Disney.

We freshened up back at The Beach Club and headed to The Grand Floridian. We toured some beautiful suites, the concierge lounges, and Victoria and Albert’s.

We finished the night with a fantastic dinner at the Chef’s Table at Citrico’s, followed by a Wishes Fireworks Cruise. It was fantastic.

I know some people have questioned the value of the fireworks cruise. Remember, that the cost is for the 10 guests you are able to take onboard, significantly decreasing your cost per person. Viewing the fireworks from The Seven Seas Lagoon was amazing. I have done it before, and I am equally impressed each time. I highly recommend it for a romantic evening for two, or a group gathering of up to 10 people.
