Agent Training (AEP) trip report Kingdom Konsultant Travel

This coming week I will be taking most of my agents for an in-depth, customized training session at Walt Disney World. We will be touring hotels, dining facilities and I have a lot of SURPRISES set up along the way that they don't know about!!!

They will be posting in this thread and adding pictures daily.
Those that will be attending from WDWMagic are as follows:
Kingdom Konsultant - Pam
Master Yoda - Richard
DisneyFalcon - Tammy
Xodisneybelleox - Jess
Shoppingnut - Gloria
Polymissy - Missy
GrumpysWife - Jenell
DisneyHeather - Heather k
Wannabebelle - Marie

We may be at a hotel or restaurant that you have always been interested in but still have not tried or perhaps we will be doing some of the many extras that can be booked for our clients that peak your interest.

We start arriving midweek to start our training!!

After that we went to up the way a little to a practice bridge.

Richard’s trying it out:

This will be much cooler when there are crocodiles under it!

Missy was practicing for the crocodiles:

Waiting for us when we got off was Jungle Juice! Woo hoo!! Richard could go for some Jungle Juice:

TrainingPart1477b16.jpg

Then our guides came and introduced themselves. They let us know how the headsets worked, and gave us some idea of what to expect.

TrainingPart1477b21.jpg

Judging from Missy’s reaction, we should expect fun:

TrainingPart1477b19.jpg

After that we went back out into the park in all our gear. We passed lots of guests waiting for the rope drop for the safari. We started off in the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and got our own private tour.

Then we left the trail for a road less traveled!

Occasionally we passed some clues of what was coming:

When we went in some enclosures like the hippo enclosure, we were anchored in:

Heather, Missy and Tommy are all tied in:

Look at the hippo!!

TrainingPart1500.jpg

TrainingPart1499.jpg

I assume hippos can’t sunburn, but man this dude looked sunburned:

TrainingPart1506.jpg

I must say, I loved seeing the safari vehicles. It was so cool to see them from a different angle! I took as many pictures of them as I did the hippos!

Back on the trek:

TrainingPart1513.jpg

This sign is not completely accurate. Apparently it should say Wilderness Trek Guides and their awesome guests.

We climbed up this tower:

TrainingPart1518.jpg

After they locked us in, we walked down the first bridge.

After we exited the bridges, we walked down into the croc enclosure. Look how close they are!

TrainingPart1586.jpg

TrainingPart1587.jpg

They are literally right below us. About 10 feet down:

We pulled out between some safari vehicles and set off down the traditional safari road.

Unlike the traditional safari vehicles, we pulled off and stopped for pictures many times:

Heather’s trying her flower which we confirmed was gluten free:

TrainingPart1754.jpg

This walkway goes behind the building for a view of the lion enclosure. We found the lion in the telescope but he was sleeping.

After we loaded back on the truck, we drove closer to the lion enclosure. See him sleeping?:

TrainingPart1779.jpg

Then, sadly, we finished our grand adventure and headed back.

Overall, I would give Wild Africa Trek two giant thumbs up. I’ll admit it, I’ve balked at the price before. That’s a lot of money for my family of four! But I walked away from this thinking it was worth every penney. I walked in thinking I would check it off my bucket list, and walked out thinking I have got to bring my family back and do it again.

I would compare it to a cruise excursion. It really felt like we were on our own private tour in a foreign land. I felt completely removed from the theme park. I never felt rushed along. I’m sure they were keeping us on schedule because we finished right on time, but they made us feel like we were setting the pace.

If you’ve been thinking about doing it, do it. You won’t regret it.

We’re still waiting on our CD of photopass pictures from the Trek. It’s included in the price by the way! We’ll post them when they come!

After our glorious morning at Animal Kingdom, it was time for more tours. Here’s our bus. There was dark tinting on the window, so it was hard to get a picture of the sign:

TrainingPart1784.jpg

We drove over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge first for a tour of the concierge lounge and a 1 bedroom. Concierge is up there:

TrainingPart1785.jpg

The concierge lounge was beautiful, but packed!

After AKL, we drove over to Boardwalk.

We got to tour a garden cottage! They were so cool! You get your own gate and fence!

TrainingPart1795.jpg

This one was set up with a bed in the loft. The living area was downstairs. I seriously needed my wide angle lens that was back in the room:

Concierge suite:

TrainingPart1803.jpg

It’s a Minnie towel! I don’t think I’ve ever had Minnie before!

TrainingPart1811.jpg

There’s a TV in the bathroom!

TrainingPart1814.jpg

Great views:

After that we walked back to the Beach Club and said farewell with many thanks to Tommy for giving up his Saturday to tour with us.

We dropped some stuff off in the room and changed clothes. I was hoping to make it to a Touring Plans meet, but I figured everyone was gone by then so we took our time. We got some snacks in the concierge lounge and walked into Epcot.

TrainingPart1830.jpg

We walked over to Mexico and met the other agents. After some socializing, we all headed to Via Napoli for dinner. Via Napoli got mixed reviews from our group. We weren’t crazy about the fact that they didn’t bring you bread unless you knew to request it. I did enjoy mine dinner. I started Tortellini soup which was great:

TrainingPart1834.jpg

Jenell had a salad:

TrainingPart1835.jpg

Then Missy, Jenell and I split a pizza.

After that we fun loving Kingdom Konsultants took a ride on Soarin and then left for the Magic Kingdom which was open until midnight.

TrainingPart1840.jpg

TrainingPart1841.jpg

We started with Dole Whips! Someone’s got a picture of that somewhere! Then we rode Pirates and Splash. Then we rode the People Mover and Buzz Lightyear. I think that was it? I could be forgetting some of it. It was great fun as usual!

Wow, we were tired! Long but awesome day!
