Actual quote from Guest...

HA...when I worked there, I used to always grin on payday, because I worked at Epcot, and Every Paycheck Comes on Thursday :)

:misses having Vista Federal as her bank:

This isn't really a "silly guest" quote, it was just something fun I would do when I worked at the Outdoor foods cart directly in front of the AmGard Theatre....

After RoE, I often had guests come up and ask me "what is the quickest way to the front of the park/monorail station/bus stop"

Me: "That way" :two finger point to the left heading toward Italy:

Two seconds later, same question

Me: "That way" :two finger point to the right, heading towards Japan:

I did this once, in fairly quick succession, and had a savvy family (who was remaining in the park to enjoy the after fireworks ambiance) laughing because they knew :ROFLOL:

Ohh, and nice avatar! Futurama forever!

I did the same thing whenever I was in AA when I did custodial. :ROFLOL:

I got a funny one-liner from my brother in-law who's been a CM for 20 yrs.

While we were walking through AK dripping wet a person passed by and said
"oh you must have been on Kali River Rapids" I noded yes.
But my Brother in-law chimmed in "no it's raining on that side of the park"

As a person who lived for over 7 years just north of Jacksonville, FL I wouldn't have got that joke. I have been in many thunderstorms where in one area its raining, but you go just a few yards in another direction and there is no rain and the sun is shining. Gotta love FL weather!

Yes I've been on one side of the road when the other side had different weather. I was on the dry side....I guess that would be the side that would make you notice the other side.

Funny quick remark, though.

I would like to ask you, who is the real rude person in this convorsation?

Do you really think that we would actually walk infront of a guest and shout, "LOL UR SO STUPID" in their faces, out in broad daylight, inside one of the Disney theme parks? No, we would not. This is the internet.

I'm a guest and admit to doing a few of these silly things in this thread, but you know what? I just laugh at it. Why? Because I don't care. I laugh at my mistakes, as do most people.

You obviously have very little knowledge about Disney's CMs, that or you are too ignorant to notice how kind and helpful they really are. CMs go through hundreds of rude guests every day, and always just put a smile on their face. And to the thousands of other guests that treat the CMs kindly, they try to make their trip the most memorable trip they have ever had.

Might I add you just called someone who works as a costume character stupid. Hundreds of costumed characters interact with guests every day and make their days memorable, putting the cherry on top of their sundae, if you will. On hot summers they sweat their butts off, and on cold winters they freeze to death just to please the guests.

I do not call such a person stupid, and have incredible respect for them, if they are willing to do that much for an individual.

kind and helpful then you make fun of the very people that u are employed to be nice to and or make faces at them from behind your stuffed head? And someone reading this that takes their children to see you are not supposed to take offence to some of you cast members callig them stupid and such. I don't care if you are doing it here on the internet or at the park that is rude and uncalled for.
if you had pride "in the magic" or in your job you would not want fans or frequant guests to know how you reidacule them for a mistake or a inside joke to the family. like I said I really see the magic is false from some

this thread really is turning myself off from wanting to go to disney again escply some of the comments from CM's. way to ruin disney for me and the family.but none of you all ever made a lame comment or mistake "EVER" in your life right?

you're the second person i've seen on here that said because of what people were talking about they wouldnt go back to disney. these forums are like tv to me - entertainment. just as i wouldnt let a tv show influence my vacation decisions, i surely wouldnt let someone i didnt know influence any decision i make, let alone where i will vacation at.

I really don't get all the people getting upset by ths thread. My wife works retail and comes home everynite with customer stories. I'm sure all of us come home with stupid people stories from work and share them with others.
It's this venting and their ability to laugh at these things that allows these people to remain CM's and keep it the happiest place on earth.

Keep up the good work (and stories as well)

yeah if you notice there are a couple stories about stupid things cast members have said. it isnt like people are picking on guests only, its just there are alot more guests that employees and therefore alot more opportunities for dumb comments

I work for staples and believe me I've heard some that make me bite my lip almost till it bleeds. Like they walk in and say, Do you have staples??:shrug: Then some of the others, where are your bikes, seeds, hoses, and the ultimate, which was asked of one of the guys who I work with, when she was having trouble getting her printer to work. Would it help if I plugged it in First???:eek::shrug::ROFLOL:

you are a cast memember calling guests stupid. that is not rude? I dont care if its here or at the park that is rude. and if you really need a reminder I believe it's on page 9 or near it your comment. And that is in no way "some of the best and nicest" ways to act. espeically where there are "guests" reading. You make a living wearing a stuffed costume and you are calling people that make a mistake Stupid. LOL

This reminds me of the saying, "Do as I say, not as I do."

I'd bet almost everybody that interacts with the public does the same thing.

I've been to WDW a bunch of times and frankly I couldn't work there as a CM - just as a guest I've gotten annoyed at the pure stupidity of some of the guests. I'm not talking about someone butchering the name of a ride though, I'm talking about words and actions bordering on abusive behavior. How CMs can keep their cool, professionalism, and continue to do their jobs absolutely amazes me. You can go to WDW and see an abusive guest be dealt with properly by a CM, and then see the CM go right back into being a typically nice Disney CM in a heartbeat. That's their job, but I'll give them a break for telling us about the few guests that do and say outrageously stupid things.

i dont understand the big deal, i've seen people on here say they were characters before

Thank you for understanding. I think someone was feeling crabby, because overall I thought my post was rather inoffensive, and to my knowledge no school children were massacred as a result.

Thank you, I know that I appreciate your undrstanding. As CMs sometimes we vent about ridiculous comments. Sometimes they are a bit overboard, but I don't know anyone who remains a CM for very long who doesn't love Disney and love being able to help people have a great time while they are there. Yes, we like to laugh about ridiculous comments, and sometimes have to deal with rude guests and sometimes rude other CMs but then have to go back to being nice people.

I personally love to hear what the CM's have to say. It's so funny to see how they deal with some of the crazy things that they are faced with everyday.

I knew a guy who worked on the Geek Squad. A man called and told them that his computer wouldn't come on. The first thing they told him was to check to see if it was plugged in securely. He said, "Okay, but I'll have to get a flashlight first. It's kind of hard to see the outlet. The power went out in here a couple of minutes ago." I would personally have advised him to return the computer immediately, because anyone that dumb shouldn't own a computer, but my friend kindly suggested that he wait for the power company to fix the power and then call back if he continued to have trouble.:brick:
