"A STATEMENT REGARDING NEW RUMORS
We don’t normally respond to fan or press speculation, but there is a rumor circulating that we would like to address. We want to assure our fans that Lucasfilm has no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher’s performance as Princess or General Leia Organa.

Carrie Fisher was, is, and always will be a part of the Lucasfilm family. She was our princess, our general, and more importantly, our friend. We are still hurting from her loss. We cherish her memory and legacy as Princess Leia, and will always strive to honor everything she gave to Star Wars."

Isn't this statement missing the word "anymore"?

I know you're kidding somewhat, but it does make sense to do that. It's kind of like joking about dead people; distasteful while people are grieving but generally becomes acceptable over time. (I know some people think it's completely unethical to joke about the dead, and that's fine. Just using the general trend of taboo as an example.)

Wanst a joke. Being honest.. they will find a way to exploit the character later on with the whole nostalgia.
If they did with Tarkin, Why wouldnt they do it with Princess Leia? hell, they are still using the image of Sir Alec Guiness.

I'm sure by the time episode 9 comes around they will be using Princess Leia the same way they used her in Rogue One. Disney had to make an announcement because Carrie Fisher had just been buried in the ground and didn't want to come off as distasteful. You will have the same people complaining that they didn't use her to finish her character off in the proper way. Dammed if you, dammed if you don't.

I'd be fine if Episode 9 just opened with her funeral explaining there was some kind of big attack since 8. They don't need to CGI her back to life.

Well they've been working on this for a long time. They've plenty to talk about.

It depends on which version they go with. The big one or the really really big one.

I wonder where they will find room for anything big or really big. Is there really enough property In Hollywood or Orlando for them to build a large Nintendo land?

I could see them making room between Simpsons and the woody woodpecker area in Orlando and possibly maybe extend it all the way to terminator.
would that mean that the terminator is also in the chopping block for them as well?
also just noticed a huge piece of land between Men in Black and Simpsons on google map. Is that land possible for park expansion?

I'm curious as to where they will fit it in Hollywood though

In Orlando they're ripping out KidZone and Hollywood is in the process of moving a lot of the backlot stuff around for more park space.

They have enough room in Orlando to build which version they decide.

Gotta wonder... would Leia have a reason to become a force ghost? Or is that reserved for Jedi Masters or whatever? (I'm not familiar with SW lore.)

Sorta surprised Animal Actors is going. Universal really can't afford to rip out another show. Parks need shows because people need places to relax for a little while, to get out of the heat and also sit down. They are gonna end up with a lot of clogged walkways and people taking up space in quick service dining areas if they keep taking away shows.

I know that my family was unimpressed with Universal's lineup at this moment in time, enough to opt to skip both gates on this trip because of how bad a value a single-day ticket is. We were looking forward to Hogsmeade, too, but thought it better to see their offerings after what seems to be what sports analysts call a "rebuild year."

*NERD ALERT* Becoming one with the force is something only the most powerful Jedi can do. In the films, the only ones to do so are Qui Gon, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Yoda. That being said, while Leia was able to slightly use the force, she never was trained as a Jedi and is no where near powerful enough to return as a force ghost. End of Nerd Alert, carry on...
