A Terror-rific Spirited 13th (ToT fans have lots to fear)...

I'm not sure why you think I was talking about the construction site? I was going purely by the promotional video they put out, which itself showed exposed and unthemed waterslides everywhere
Because your original post I quoted said pipes, not slides.

I'm not sure why it has to be a competition? Having a tacky element at one doesn't undo the tacky element of the other. Both parks can have tacky elements; they don't exist in a vacuum.

Regardless, that's still theming whether it's tacky or not--my original complaint was about it lacking in some ways at VB
It's not a competition. I just want to point out that Disney Fans have ridiculous double standards and a visceral hatred of all things Universal that they don't even realize they have.

@Katie G yesterday in her best analytical tone was questioning Universal's business acumen in replacing the Curious George ball pit with a couple of Nintendo E Tickets. And she was serious. It's ridiculous.

I don't know why you assume I hate Universal? I go to USH all the time. Wizarding World is fantasic. But just as some may have double standards, others give Universal a free pass when they come up short in some areas

We all know that this conversation never took place until Universal started calling Volcano Bay a theme park. Now we have to rationalize it so they are correct.

In my opinion, a water park definition is different than the contemporary theme park definition, but agree to disagree.
Water parks are just like theme parks, just with cheaper admission and a very different dress code.

And the CG video showed multiple pipes...
Unless they're running through the supports for the slides I didn't see anything that's obviously a pipe.

One thing I loved though in rewatching that video is how they seem to have edited out Dragon Challenge being visible in that shot of the Hogwarts Express lol Why can't that view be real...?

You might want to rewatch it again (despite that, my complaint was about the slides in general and not just the pipe ones)

If this is what you're talking about she literally was just asking a question.
You seem very touchy for an honest question.

It seems like Universal's opportunity would be to capture the young family market from Disney, but most of their rides are not height friendly for young children. Having visited the parks with young children, there is limited things they can do and they get bored. Removing kidzone and replacing it with the rumored Nintendo product you describe doesn't sound like it will be very young kid friendly.

While I personally would find Nintendo to be more exciting that woody woodpecker kidzone, will there still be a dedicated kid area? or does this remove even more kid friendly rides?

Also, given all the new IP universal acquired with the DreamWorks acquisition, putting Nintendo in the future 3rd THEME park gate seems like it would give it more space and appeal vs. taking over an existing land (even if that land is outdated)
You get so defensive when someone has a question about Universal's decisions. And refer to the bold in the statement where she said that she prefers Nintendo in the kidzone area - so she wasn't negatively questioning the decision (as you make it seem) but questioning if there would be anything dedicated to kids anymore.

Nothing ridiculous about it.

Yeah. They are water slides. I imagine folks paying up to $100/day for the Water Theme Park are expecting water slides. I doubt they will run to guest services and complain that there are water slides in their water theme park.

You seem so defensive over this and I'm not sure why. My original point, in reply to another post, is that the slides were comparatively unthemed, and NOT that people would "run to guest services and complain."

Because, even though you are unaware that you are doing it, you are judging everything by Disney's standards. Universal doesn't play by Disney's rules. And Disney fans really don't get that.

So why is everything always compared to Disney then, eh?
And they will be infinitely higher quality than any slide at Disney.

That's fine; Universal and Disney can play by whatever rules they want. But neither exists in a vacuum, so of course people are going to compare and contrast
Yes. But to say that because they aren't doing it the Disney way makes it gaudy and tacky when the park will actually be far less tacky than the Disney parks is....frustrating.
