Everest has double the throughput of Dinosaur, or triple if they're dealing with creepers or have a station closed on Dinosaur.

Once Pandora opens, if they turned Dinoland into an acceptable land then they'd have 4 excellent lands with an e-ticket anchor in each corner of the park. I really don't think AK needs to use any more land, they really just need to have people fan out beyond Africa and Asia. Camp Minnie/Mickey and Dinoland were/are the obvious areas of the parks that most people skipped or spent very little time in. Pandora solves one side, and maybe Dinoland/Dinosaur will be fixed on the other side.

Do people really find Dinosaur an acceptable e-ticket EMV though? It's probably the biggest waste of a great ride system this side of Antarctica over at Sea World. Guests never seem overly thrilled by the ride -I hear more negative comments than positive ones whenever I'm there. I personally HATE the attraction. I've probably done Kilimanjaro and Everest 20-30 times a year yet I have to drag myself to Dinosaur to do it once a year. Bad queue, bad preshow/story, dimly lit scenes with a few ferns and some impressive AA's. Not even a decent onride soundtrack despite Dinosaurs superb movie score! Instead I hear some idiot screaming and a computer voice narrating dinosaurs names into the speakers- ugh! I'd trade it all for a straight up clone of TDS's Indy even without their amazing queue (DL's fire effects wouldn't be cost effective and TDS's alternative effects are good anyway).

Currently there are other parks in need of much more then AK. With Avatar opening next year its going to be a long time until AK gets another big project. DHS is happening now with other projects "supposed" to happen, Epcot is supposedly next with MK after that. I agree with you that Dinoland needs more. Everyone love dinosaurs, so a revamp of that land should definitely at the top of the list of possible projects.

Doesn't matter. Both have long lines, both have short lines. You've said you don't like the EMV ride. That's clear. Obviously others do. Personally I'd rather ride this than Everest but that's personal opinion. As a lot of this is.

Or they could keep Indy where it belongs, on the West Coast uncloned in America, and redo dinosaur to be a far better Dinosaur based attraction.... Just a thought.
Great idea. Take Dinosaur and add GotG and Groot can save us from the fallen tree instead of Aladar.

Watching TDL is like the icebucket challenge. A rude awakening. Between four parks WDW manages one parade, and a pretty lame one at that. Meanwhile Tokyo has that. ^^^^ Stylish, delightfully harkening back to MSEP, modern, overwhelming.

I'm sure Avatar and SW will prove to be no-expense spared experiences, great if you can afford $650 extra for the full experience, but this video just rubs in what two decades of penny pinching and a 'good enough' attitude has meant for WDW.
What I also love about Tokyo's electrical parade (Which had been running for 15 years and still keeps itself fresh) is that the entire parade is treated like an art show in parade form. Such as fantastic special effects for some of the floats and the orchestrated music heard in later portions of the parade.

Speaking of special effects kudos to the Genie float

It fits better than Avatar. At least Indy is an Earth animal in a park about the flora and fauna of planet Earth.

Yea! Earth Day!

From the get-go, and in the park's official mission statement, there was always going to be a section of the park dedicated to fictional plants and animals. It just so happens that it revolves around one specific franchise/fictional culture. Instead of the smattering that Beastly Kingdom promised.

I fear for a people that place the same value on history and culture that they do on pretty pop culture. Mythology has the weight of human history behind it. They promised Neil deGrasse Tyson. They are delivering Kim Kardashian.

News Flash: We can talk about changing castles, but how about changing It's a Small Worlds?

Tokyo Disneyland has announced that they will add about 40 Disney characters to It's a Small World. I expect that Tokyo's change will be similar to Disneyland's in 2008, though Disneyland only added 29 characters (unless more have been added since). DL's version does not have Anna and Elsa... but do not fear! Tokyo's will.

They're also going to be adding in tunes from the characters' movies. Google translate tells me that "music reminiscent of the name scene of the movie will be incorporated into the song of 'small world'." I expect this part to be like DL's too.

I only hope that this change is not brought to MK.

*edited for accuracy
I want "it's a small world", Carousel of Progress and Space Mountain to be relocated to Epcot.

One of the biggest overriding themes of Avatar revolves around conservation and harmony with nature, much like the park itself. I fail to see how Indy could possibly be a better fit than Pandora.

Is Avatar the best fit? Of course not, but at least it centers around themes that harmonize perfectly with the mission of the park.

Pandora/Avatar celebrates imaginary animals and nature conservation. Indiana Jones does neither. How is it a better fit?

Then I guess Wall.E is perfect for DAK. Wall.E is pretty heavy on the conservation message. And there is a cockroach AND a plant. I believe it was a pizza plant.

The same film where Earth has been turned into a barren rock, and anything to do with nature has been obliterated?

That's exactly in keeping with the hopeful message of Disney's Animal Kingdom?

It will be visually stunning, but if you're willing to look deeper clear inconsistencies with the park and film appear.

In my book it's a toss up between Indy and the Blue People.

Call it a warning. Like the poaching message on the Safari and how they actually show you dead animals in the queue video.
