They need to release a documentary of their own outlining how increased exposure and awareness of these sea creatures through their parks actually help the species as a whole survive because of better human behavior after that exposure.
There's SeaRescue on ABC's Weekend Adventure bloc, which I believe well predates "Blackfish". But they should have done more and more aggressively attacked the film. PETA and the Blackfish folks have worked very hard to make a claim that they care about animals... they really only care about their egos... attack them on that.

really don't know much about the games out there. Just another media to look for IP's. Zelda, Sonic Hedgehog. Tell the truth, I don't know much about Nintendo either other than Mario or who owns those games. Showing my age
Thanks to Super Smash Bros, it introduced alot of gamers to other Nintendo franchises mainly the obscure ones.

So meanwhile Disney get slammed for adding IP everywhere and Seaworld gets slammed for not having IP....
The closest would have to be them using the Rankin Bass Rudolph characters during the Christmas seasons (Mainly as an exhibit and can meet the characters) but that's it.

I don't get your multiple page obsession with a park you have admittedly never set foot in and have said you have no intention of ever setting foot in. While they may not be as healthy as they would like to be, they are still adding new offerings, have parks in other parts of the country, and Orlando is most likely their number 1 site, although San Diego is probably a close second. I highly doubt the place is going anywhere anytime soon, and if it did, it would probably end up being a Convention Center expansion or more convention connected hotels than anything theme park related.
The bad press has been significantly ratcheted down since the Blackfish thing, and for Sea World to go out of business would actually be to the detriment of sea life around the world, because of all the work they do in taking care of, relocating, and rehabilitating animals. Most rational members of the scientific community are aware of this.

Do you have any hard numbers or data that says the park is about the fail?

To be fair, I'm really to blame for the thread drift, but I just wanted to bring up how great Electric Ocean was this summer. And I kept engaging @Mike S to explain his dislike of a park he'd never been to. I feel like I sort of understand why now. I don't necessarily agree that they are facing imminent closure as they continue to add attractions, but I think he's really just more excited at the possibility of even further UNI expansion.

8/8 for second quarter earnings
What's that mean?

It's also from looking up their available offerings and seeing very little that would interest me. When it comes to animals I can get my fix at Disney.

Just what it says, SEA second quarter earnings are released 8/8
Ooooooooohhhhhhhhhh...

I didn't realize it was a date you were giving me :hilarious:
He's certainly on the way to a prime spot in the loony bin. How stupid do you have to be to actually believe UNI will overtake SeaWorld. Its laughable really.

Don't bother engaging him. He's got no clue what he's talking about, thinks he can speak about a park he's never been too, and spouts off asinine Ford statements. Let him live in his pathetic world of delusion. :hilarious:
So you don't believe they're in any kind of trouble? Especially after all the losses in attendance over the years and the fact that Disney and Universal will be building like there's no tomorrow for the next few years? I'd say that's delusional.

My thinking that Universal would take over the land in Orlando is entirely possible should the situation ever get that bad (I'm talking mid 2020's here at the earliest). SeaWorld is literally right across the street from the huge new plot of land that will be Site B. If the price was right why wouldn't they go for it? Orlando is becoming a very competitive market to be in and I don't think SeaWorld will be able to catch up.

Encourage your family to do this...

Goto Discovery Cove. Enjoy the best experience in Orlando. Now take those perks you got for 7 days of park tickets elsewhere and goto the parks you might not have otherwise gone to. Goto Seaworld, goto Aquatica, checkout stuff in town. Goto KSC.

I bet you find yourself heading back to Seaworld more than once...

I found I-Drive 360 attractions to be a great diversion as well, I had low expectations for the Sea Life aquarium, but we really liked it! The wax museum was good fun and the Orlando eye gave a great view. We got a good deal on the Legoland passes so, figured we'd check all that out, highly recommend.

I probably would go back for the animals but that's about it. Nothing else they have looks on par with what I'm used to attraction wise. Aren't DC tickets also very expensive?
