Before they got Warner Brothers' Harry Potter and until Comcast came along, so was Uni. They were down in attendance around Seaworld's level. Maybe Disney could buy Seaworld, put in a couple lands from DisneySea and have a big Gondola to connect. Think how much crap we could talk about then.
While a Disney owned SeaWorld would be amazing, that would be one long Gondola ride! I'm all for it though (not that it will ever happen...). Of course in my head I'm imagining Animal Kingdom level quality, just ocean based and that would be fantastic.

And right now with the huge attractiveness of big IP in theme parks do you see something that can save SeaWorld like Harry Potter saved Uni?
And there's the problem, they have no studio partner. Maybe Middle Earth, Hunger Games, or team up with Electronic Arts or some gaming company like Uni has with Nintendo. Great question.

EA or really any other big developer/publisher doesn't have the same reach outside of hardcore gamers that Nintendo has with their characters.

Agreed. But you can't deny they're investing in the parks whether some like what's coming or not. But you could also argue it's being forced on them and they really have no choice after a decade+ of stagnation and cuts. Even when we think they're "being cheap" on attractions or lands, it's not really "cheap" as everything costs a bit more. But it makes me really frustrated with things like 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. There is really no reason they couldn't have given us the full version they original envisioned. I know budgets and all but this company can afford to throw a little more cash at certain projects. Do it right the first time. But they often do the bare minimum. The lack of real entertainment at Magic Kingdom astounds me.

When I say 'Cheap' its a reference to WDW doing the absolute minimum as you say there is NO REASON why 7DMT was not the full E ticket pitched by WDI it would not have affected rideability by small children etc. it would also have increased capacity as more cars on a longer track.

really don't know much about the games out there. Just another media to look for IP's. Zelda, Sonic Hedgehog. Tell the truth, I don't know much about Nintendo either other than Mario or who owns those games. Showing my age

So meanwhile Disney get slammed for adding IP everywhere and Seaworld gets slammed for not having IP....
I'm not slamming them for not having IP, I'm slamming them because they suck as a contender for my time and money. I'm also asking what they could honestly do to save themselves. For Universal it was a big IP.

I know we've gone in circles on this, but still not sure how you know it sucks when you haven't been there to experience it or ride the rides.

As far as IPs go, they've brought in low level IPs for specific events, like the Polar Express and Rudolph during Christmas. I believe they are set to build a Sesame Street land soon as well. Not that that's in any way going to draw you in haha.

I can look at their list of offerings and see there's not much that would interest me, namely high quality themed rides like at Disney or Universal.

SEA will have got the best coaster line-up in Orlando from next week. That counts for something. Brilliant landscaping too, perhaps the best in Orlando. And better animal encounters and enclosures than DAK. That's three saving graces.

SEA failed in developing good rides. The newer offerings of Turtle and Antarctica are rubbish. Of the older ones Atlantis currently seems to be running without effects, while Wild Arctic feels dated compared to all those state-of-the-art screen-based simulators that have sprung up everywhere else.

SEA is a good park, regardless of one's personal opinions about sea mammal captivity. I think your original analogy captured their plight: WDW is unassailable, and SEA got destroyed by UNI for the left-over days.

You know UNI really needs to do before thinking about a third gate? Increase its hours in the winter. Closing USO at 5-6 and IoA at 8 is BS. Disney, to their credit, has respectable closing times for the same period.

I always thought it was a tactic to push people into CityWalk.

IoA looks beautiful at night, but you almost never get to see it like that. :(

I dunno, if you only read about Antarctica or Journey to Atlantis you'd probably think they were highly themed.
You'd end up disappointed, though. Apparently Atlantis used to be much better, but most of the effects have been stripped away.

Wild Arctic needs updated with a new, more realistic film. And a thorough cleaning and refurbishment of the simulators. I kind felt like I was in a smelly, dirtier version of Star Tours when I rode it for the first time in a few years this past weekend.
