Once you could visit WDW and there would always be something new to enjoy. Last few visits were 'Whats been cut this time' why bother visiting under those conditions

Now the we have the anti-capitalitst screed Avatar attraction. If i want to be lectured to ill go take a course in Marxist didactic not visit a Theme Park

RoL - or whatver pieces Disney could sort of make work.

No nighttime parade, Streetmosphere nuked just about everywhere.

Disney was at one time more than a dogs breakfast of rides.

Agreed. But you can't deny they're investing in the parks whether some like what's coming or not. But you could also argue it's being forced on them and they really have no choice after a decade+ of stagnation and cuts. Even when we think they're "being cheap" on attractions or lands, it's not really "cheap" as everything costs a bit more. But it makes me really frustrated with things like 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. There is really no reason they couldn't have given us the full version they original envisioned. I know budgets and all but this company can afford to throw a little more cash at certain projects. Do it right the first time. But they often do the bare minimum. The lack of real entertainment at Magic Kingdom astounds me.

Not trying to be a jerk, but just wanting to understand, as I haven't been here too terribly long, but why hang around an enthusiast forum if you have so much disdain for the place?

You can love something and dislike how it is currently headed. Surprisingly Disney has been a company longer than 10 years!

Here's a useful chart I made to keep track of various posters.

(I'm somewhere on the left side of the blue square, not that anyone cares)

(( I'm not going to say where I've placed various posters, that will just ignite flames ))

Iol, granting an injunction against the tech outfits using the software is one thing, but ain't no federal judge in the country going to buy the theory that use of the software, authorized or not, somehow renders the final films as "derivative works." This is creative filing at its best, and any second year law student could tell you that Hagens Berman are dumping at least four distinct types of law into the blender, throwing the slop at the wall, and hoping some of it leaves a stain. Rearden will get something out of this, but they're not getting an injunction.

And I love how you're somehow spinning this as Iger's fault.
I know people aren't fond of Iger but Ford blames everything on Iger especially when it comes to anything sports related.

Nope and I have NO INTENTION OF EVER RIDING IT. Such is my level of digust for the source material.

As for those who said no matter what I said about avatar id be there riding it well Bzzzt wrong.

I just find a delicious irony that an anti-capitalist screed like Avatar is the current showpiece of Disney one of the greediest corporations on the planet.
I guess you never learned the lesson of "Green Eggs And Harm". Where you hate/dislike something you never tried but end up enjoying it in the end.

Can we leave the click-bait 'headlines' out of this forum? It's bad enough I have to wade through that kind of crap in social media... keep it out of here. This is a lawsuit filed... and claims made... not half the crap you added to the inevitable. I guess ignore is probably the best outcome here...
Ford is basically the grump old guy of the forums. Nothing impressed him about WDW or DL.

I think I fall between #PurplePeople and #BlueCrew

I'm optimistic about some things they do but it seems for every one step forward they take two steps back

I also recall that Spirit noted the show's storyline did not resonate with the Chinese audience which probably is a bigger factor.

Disney is going to need to bring in Chinese stories because most of Disneys stories are based on western mythology and literature which does not Necessarily translate to Chinese sensibilities

Heck the Lion King is based on Hamlet, and the ideas expressed in many cases is subversive to the Chinese.
The Lion King also runs 180 to the cultural morays of Chinese culture. The Lion King violates the tenant of respect and reverence of elders.

The Book of Mormon would be just as successful if it were playing in Salt Lake.
