Phantom Menace sucked. Jurassic World was at least twice as bad. At least Phantom Meanace didn't just tell the same story over again like Jurrasic whatever.

When B-movies try to be too ambitious, they can get into trouble. I didn't need a political plot running side-by-side with Jurassic World.
I'm a tough critic on tentpole movies, but I was thoroughly entertained by JW. That's more than I can say for Phantom Menace.

more like 9 or 10, I liked it, yes it was too long and needed trimming down a bit, but everyone in my household enjoyed it.

I do recall reading a post by @hopemax somewhere regarding seeing many people complaining about the classic Disney attractions because they didn't pay homage to the current BRAND or characters or IP. Things that are soooo Disney from Mansion to Pirates to Small World to Tiki Room to Jungle Cruise to CoP etc were bashed because "there's no princesses'' or ''where's Olaf?'' or ''Why isn't Stitch or Princess Tangled in here?''
No, those weren't the comments, but those were the the thoughts in the background.
Sadly, Disney has become all about the characters, about the characters ... no transporting people to other times and places (and not simply in the parks -- unless someone can tell me why all the Disney Princesses have something to do with the history of the Old South at Dixie Landings!)
I think, barring a major shift in thinking in 2018 when management does a HUGE regime change, the gap between those of us who grew up and love the Disney of the 70s-90s (50s and 60s for the really old folks!) and the generation who weren't even born until the 80s or 90s or GASP ... 00s ... will just grow and become a huge chasm. The two Disneys are not only not similar, today's actually contradicts so many basic tenets of OUR Disney. (HINT: If you can justify Frozen in Norway, then you're one of those folks.)
I really don't know what the answer is beyond a rethinking at the highest levels of the company -- and, like I said, we're about three years away from that even starting to happen.

Again, talking about Baha Mar, the developer of this $3.5 billion mega resort project in the Bahamas is desperately seeking another $300 million (sound familiar to SDL?) in financing to get the stalled project finished and open, while the Chinese sit back, laugh, and move their workers and assets back to China or onto other projects. And since the government of the Bahamas is so small and weak and the resort represents such a huge part of the economy, China is basically exerting its not-so-soft power right off the coast of Florida for all to see (if they simply opened their eyes).
You would think that with companies like Hyatt and SLS and Rosewood involved that raising those funds would be like me finding $4 for a drink at Starbucks, but you'd be wrong because it appears the CCP has let it be known that by complaining about the quality of build and workmanship (sound familiar again?) on the project that Baha's developer, Armenian Sarkis Izmirlian, has caused these Chinese workers and the country to ''lose face'' and that helping finance the finishing of this massive project wouldn't be a good idea for those wishing to do business in the future with or in the Chinese Mainland.
So, you have a massive hotel/casino/entertainment resort complex that is about 85% completed -- one completely controlled by the Chinese government -- just sitting and baking in the hot tropical sun ... as 2014 cancellations turned into 2015 cancellations that are now turning into 2016 and even 2017 cancellations and many top execs that have been part of this are quitting and trying to rebuild careers after being soiled by being part and party (no not Commie Party) to this mess.
Since you likely haven't heard it, I'll drop it here: not just in the Bahamas, but globally within certain circles this is being referred to as the P(eople's) R(epublic) Disaster. And guess who's heading it? A couple of Disney veterans.
