A Set of Goofy Observations

Ah, I had heard that it, but it hardly sounded proper. Thanks!

I think that it does flow around a central theme...."When You Wish".

Though a unique one would certainly be welcome.

No problem. There are two classifications: Fur Characters and Face Characters. Fur is what you call a "foam head" (which makes me laugh) and Face are princes/princesses/Jack Sparrow.

Can we get FitS for part of the year, and Wishes the other part?:lookaroun

I seriously wish they would bring back Magic, Music Mayhem for a limited time engagement.

Like DL with Magical?! Sure. That would rock.

MMM looked fantastic in effects, there's no doubt...but again, the music. Always felt disjointed and incomplete. At least Wishes has everything in moderation, IMHO.

Exactly like DL. :D

I disagree. MMM is the only fireworks show that comes close to bumping ROE with POE off the top of my fireworks list. It was simply jaw dropping when I saw it and I saw it IRL, not on youtube. :lookaroun :p

Oh, yeah, I know. There's no denying EVER that the effects and scope blow lots of things out of the water.

I also enjoy the term "bumpkins" and my thoughts thread shall reflect that.

The word I want to use right now can't be posted here!

I'd rather see them ditch the narrative format for Wishes, because I think it feels shoehorned and artificial, and stick with some really strong music and "impressions" of character interaction. The medium is the message, and fireworks don't equal conflict to me.

I agree, I don't think any fireworks shows need Jiminy Cricket or anyone to tell you when the villains are coming, etc. Look at ROE, you can tell a story purely through music and a few visuals, no narration needed.

Peter Pan's flight is honestly an embarrassment. I can't believe a classic attraction has been basically left to rot. Refurb this attraction now!

I thought it needed a refurb badly back when I went on it in 2003! Its in terrible shape. And somthing needs to be done with the queue and loading area to make it load faster.

Well, the Witch does have the magic mirror. :p

If you want to take it that literally, then why is an insect from ye olden days in Italy talking to us in 2010!? And isn't the Queen dead?
Jiminy basically became a Mickeyverse character right after Pinocchio came out, alongside Figaro. Remember him in Fun and Fancy Free and Mickey's Christmas Carol?
Evil Queen (and any other dead villain in any Disney park/House of Mouse type situation) being alive can be explained with the fanon idea of the Disney Legion of Doom, with villains being brought back by Hades, like he did with Jafar on that one episode of the Hercules cartoon.

And add bigger boats, even if it means replacing the track to accommodate the extra weight.

I respectfully disagree. The small ride vehicles are one of things that give the ride its charm.

A good start would be adding the fiber-optic stars that have been at DL since the 1980s...

You can? All I hear is a score, albeit a great score, but still it's a score. No images pop in my head- but when Jiminy, The Evil Queen, or even Genie speaks I can picture it all along with the fireworks.

lol, I was sorta exaggerating but that does make sense about Hades! So cool!

Is this how Disney explains the villains, or is it fan-made?

^Well, I can see where he's getting. Blue fireworks + "Friend Like Me" + Magic Lamp on the Castle = Genie, but I think it's clearer that he talk.

I think the "few visuals" are what you see on the giant Globe in the middle of the lagoon. There's a fiery beginning, then the earth appears, followed by animals, humans, technology, etc. The finale looks (and sounds) like a celebration of mankind, then there's a few optimistic lyrics about the future of human civilization. I think the story is quite clear, and without excessive narration.

I don't discount that, I really don't...Wishes IS lacking Park Music, but I find FitS to be...blad, at worst. The music is good, but it doesn't flow the same way Wishes does. Wishes feels truly organic, noble in it's music, and I think embodies the spirit of Fantasyland, if not The Magic Kingdom in a very different way, instead of flashing pyro to arrangements of park music.

Wishes is an overly long Disney commercial to me.

How do you get through the park so quick?! We utilize FP, don;t lag too much, it still takes us all day, and we always have to cut SOMETHING.

Nope, literally had everything done by 6. We just know how to utilize our time. We saw the parade, saw the Jubilee, and everything. I really don't know how we did it, but we did.

Pirates- Audio in the AA portions, yes, sounded great. However, how was the DJ Projection? Very off for us.

Fine for me.

Splahs looked better than Aug, I agree, but the running/silhouette effect was dead.

Splash looked great. The shadow was working perfectly.

I find that Wishes does the same, again, for the reasons I listed above. FitS feels clunky. Re-record it, add some more vocals, it's be set.

There's absolutely NO reason for a lot of vocals during a fireworks show. If anything it really detracts from the experience.

First, I'm glad to hear that MK is getting good maintenance on their attractions, however, some are still lacking (but may need a refurb instead of plain maintenance). You said Pooh looks great - did they do anything to the dream scene? For my past 5 or 6 trips that entire area has just been plain filthy. Anything that is suppose to have bright colors was just covered with filth.

It looked very clean, very good.

Also, you said Pirates looks good. In August & Nov the two pirates that are leaning against each other (on the left) have been frozen. Were they frozen for you? And is the pirate still missing his tower of hats that has been gone for (what, over a year now?).

They were moving. As for the hats, I wouldn't expect them to come back.

Did you happen to hear anything about RFID? I know that has been talked a lot recently here on WDWMagic, just wondering if you've heard anything at all on it too.

Nope. I've heard nothing about it. Other than having it in our costumes.

MMM looked fantastic in effects, there's no doubt...but again, the music. Always felt disjointed and incomplete. At least Wishes has everything in moderation, IMHO.

MMM was the best fireworks show I've ever seen live. Honestly, it was a spectacle.

Well, I suppose Wishes' "drag time" could be severely cut while having the key points: Just keep the opening by Jiminy, Queen's whatever lines she has, The one or 2 blue fairy lines, and the last Jiminy line, then we're fine on dialogue.
