Quick question, Do people in the fast pass line for Space get to play the games or only the long lines?
I'm pretty sure it's only the regular but was just curious.:shrug:

I know we are on the topic of Aland and Indy here it seems right now, but I just wanted to say that I think a good futureplacement for Stitch would be something to do with TRON there. It isn't Toony and fits the theme for TL well. I think it would be perfect.

The problem with Tron is that it takes place in the 80s and the sequal is supposed to take place in the early 90s I believe. Not the future, like the rest of the land implies. Plus I don't think there would be any room in the ride building for a big attraction.

Was Lilo & Stitch taking place in the future? No. Monsters inc.? No. Sure it took place in monstroplois, but that was still present day. Did Toy Story take place in the future? No. Obviously the original Tron was in the 80's as it was released in 1982. The whole look of the upcoming TRON Legacy is futuristic though. I think the problem now with TL is it is too toony and not nearly futuristic enough and i'm not saying TRON would help it become more futuristic (although I think from seeing the first trailer they could easily find a way). It would be replacing a absolutely TERRIBLE attraction and it would be a step in the right direction as far as i'm concerned.

Again...the Volcano would clash with Aland. The only Polynesian part is the Tiki room, and there's no way to connect the two.

So then, why doesn't the Tiki Room clash with everything else? If WDI built a volcano, they would and could make it work. It's not like Adevntureland is set in one place.

Listen, you can think whatever you want, but from my own personal experiences and talking to guests, they are starting to tire of cartoon ride after cartoon ride. Eventually there will be a breaking point, and a lot of longtime visitors will be alienated.

Well it's been a great few weeks here at the World, and I must say, I'm very, very impressed with what I'm seeing from the parks on this recent trip. Things seem to be improving, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Honestly, it was crowded last week, but my family and I still managed to do basically everything in every park by 6PM.:shrug:

One main thing I really noticed is how maintenance has really improved head and shoulders. I noticed things off or slightly jerky on rides one day, and the next they were fixed, where as recently it had taken weeks to see improvement.


Magic Kingdom

I'll start off with the park that has caught the majority of my complaints these past few years. I must say, without a doubt the Magic Kingdom is improving. Maintenance is almost spot on, the cast is still great, and even the food tasted better this past week. Now for the updates:

Splash Mountain will NOT be receiving lap bars during the next two months as I've been told. The reason for the lengthy refurb is that all the lifts in the ride will be ripped out an replaced. Expect the lap bars next year. Other than that, Splash looked terrific. Every effect was working perfectly, and the place looked in great shape.

Big Thunder Mountain is still the best mountain out of the four, with Splash following at a close second.

The past round of building touch ups look great, and a lot of MK's colors are really popping now.

Peter Pan's flight is honestly an embarrassment. I can't believe a classic attraction has been basically left to rot. Refurb this attraction now!

Pooh looks great, and is really a terrific dark ride.

Jungle Cruise's digital animation has made show scenes much more dependable, and there are less and less malfunctions. Unfortunately, I've been told not to expect a refurb this year. Or next year. Yup, it's been pushed back to 2012.

Pirates looked and sounded GREAT. I was really impressed.

Mansion is still the best attraction on property, and looked like it had just came up from a refurb.

HoP is a very solid show.

Country Bears looked great, and sounded great as well, except for Buff, Melvin, and Max. They were clicking all over the place.

Didn't waste our time with Stitch.

Buzz is still incredibly fun, even if it's dated and ugly.:lol:

Had a good MILF show for the first time in a looong time.

Now for the TTA. I rode it. I found it to be exactly as enjoyable as before the script was changed. I honestly pay no attention to the spoken words of the ride. It's there for relaxation to me, and it still does that job swimmingly. The only negative is the absence of the star tunnel music in Space makes that portion of the ride kinda creepy.

Space Mountain. *Sigh* The queue looks great, and the games are fun, even though I only played them for a few seconds. The pepper's ghost effects look amazing! It's crazy how faded they had become.

Now the load area ceiling is nice, but I HATED the configuration of sending you into the completely unthemed hallway at the back. Honestly, the refurb was basically all about queue and post show aesthetics, and they completely threw it out the window by sending you through that hallway, where the bare painted walls have already begun to be the victim of vandalism. Also aren't the air gates supposed to be lit up? They look pretty lame without it.

If the ride has been smoothed out, I could barely tell. I still had a heck of a lot of fun on it, but it's really no different than before. The obnoxiously loud lift and no audio doesn't help either.

The post show was nice, until the headache inducing "green screen".

All in all I give the Space Mountain refurb a D+/C-.

I ate at the Crystal Palace and Cinderella's Royal table and had excellent meals at both locations.

Now for a random MK rambling. Fantasyland will be great when it opnes, but MK wil still need more to do. On New Years Eve and December 27th, my family and I had everything in the park done by 8/6PM respectively, and that's without being commandos and running all over the park. If people can do that during the busiest time of the year, I really think more is needed at the flagship park.

It may not matter because if it stays cold enough they won't revive. But if people really care about saving the environment they will get out a shovel. Invasives are much worse than coal plants, global warming etc. They do far far more damage.

Seriously though, I think a South America land with 2 or 3 IJ attractions at DAK could be awesome!

Then they could do a Jungle Book or S.E.A. overlay of the Jungle Cruise. Stitch in the Tiki Room, and covert the SFR tree to a PatF walk through. Add an amped up FotLK theater and I think it would work.

My former number one park has slipped a bit in the past few months. The new painting on Innoventions East looks horrid IMO, and having no LoW really took a lot away from what was once a beautiful park during the holidays.

Spaceship Earth is still 75% great, and 25% laughable.

Soarin' looks TERRIBLE. Seriously. All 3 times I went on it, the screen was dirty, the film was dirty, etc. It really needs TLC.

Living with the Land is one of my favorite rides at WDW. Yes I'm serious.

HISTA is a joke of a 3-D film. Honestly it was the blurriest film I've ever seen of a projector. Characters faces before shrinking are almost indistinguishable. Any one saying Captain EO coming back would be an embarrassment to EPCOT obviously doesn't realize there's already one in the Magic Eye Theater.

JII is still depressing, but I must make my check ups on Figment.

I still think The Seas is an awesome pavilion. I could spend hours in that place.

UoE is still UoE, although I have no problem with that.

M:S is a great attraction, and completely worthy of being in EPCOT. Nothing gets your blood pumping like that thing.

Test Track...it's getting stale to tell you the truth. I think it needs some spicing up somehow.

Didn't get to do Sum of all Thrills, but I really wanted to.

Finally got to do KP! What a fun little game. I think every park should have an experience like this.

All the countries look great. Especially Norway and Germany.:lookaroun

Ate at the Biergarten and Le Cellier, and had wonderful meals at both.

La Cava is a great addition to Mexico.

Not to mention Rick Moranis is no longer in acting, last I heard he was a country western singer.

When we were their October of 08' I immediately went to guest relations after we did HISTA, and complained (politely) about the print quality. The girl just stared at me blankly and then pretended to type something into the computer and said next guest please. I had a similar (but far worse) experience when I inquired about the Lights of Winter (Nov of 09') with an elderly gentleman at GR, the guy honestly gave me the company line about obsolete tech, I smiled at him and said 'How can the LOW be obsolete when the Electric Water Padgent you guys are running by the MK is still going? I mean it was in service when I was 13 (I am now 35) before the LOW were even installed?' He told me (curtly) I was entitled to my opinion. :lol:
