A Set of Goofy Observations

It's involved beyond the crates in the queue? Why didn't you tell me this on our cruise?:fork:

:lookaroun

I don't remember if it's true or rumor, but during my training I remember my trainer going over the story of the Jungle Cruise navigation company, and that Merryweather Pleasure was the owner of the company and the steam train that traversed the Adventureland wilds(accounting for when you can hear the train whistle on the JC).

Sounds about right. Right Guard would know for sure.:lookaroun

I've heard that as well, it might be in my WDI book at home.

I think it's cannon, though.

I wear my "Temple of the Forbidden Eye Expedition Guide" shirt around Mk sometimes. Get lots of comments about how much MK needs some Indy.

It always has been. You need to find attractions that DO appeal to everyone, but at the same time, have individual demographics, too. Not EVERYTHING can overlap.

Oh, and iguanas? Are you referring to how when subjected to extreme cold, iguanas "freeze" and go into a coma like trance? It's been all over the Miami news, this week, as iguanas have fallen out of trees onto people.:lookaroun

Yes. Iguanas need to freeze. They are an invasive species and hopefully many others invasives will freeze over the weekend, both plant and animal. So if you see one laying on the ground you know what to do. :fork:

Seriously.

I didn't know you were so well versed in Miami's issues and current events.

Yeah, there's a number to call and everything. I doubt that people even do that , though.

Yea, visitors from Disneyland often mock us for not having Indy...

Although they do say our skippers are often funnier.

It may not matter because if it stays cold enough they won't revive. But if people really care about saving the environment they will get out a shovel. Invasives are much worse than coal plants, global warming etc. They do far far more damage.

No, because I'm right. I don't want to seem like an A hole on this one, but another cartoon ride will do nothing to boost MK's image, no matter what the style of ride is.

No one's opinion is right or wrong. Don't get too cocky on this.

TBQH, I consider anything related to any kind of movie/TV show to be in one category (yes, Indy) and something completely original with a ceated backstory for the parks to be in the other (EE, JC, HM).

And although I might favor Up and Aladdin, I'd still love to see the volcano in Adventureland to add to the Polynesian feel.

At least our Adventureland has the oppurtunity to further expand...

Exactly, balance. A cartoon character here or there isn't bad(outside of Fantasyland, they can toon it up all they want there), but having every single ride be kiddy and cartoony just turns a lot of people off.

Maybe not, because if it did then why is the bulk of everything new that's coming to the Disney parks around the world (aside from 2 distinct rides) are all based on "cartoons"? Maybe people like the cartoony rides a lot and don't mind them.

Go to Disneyland, see their Adventureland, then comment.;)

Oh but I have! The Jungle Cruise does complement the ride well (I love the queue radio in the JC mentioning the temple occasionally), but I think Indy just has such a better connection with the movie world.

Besides though, wouldn't you prefer a new original attraction that would boost AL? Somthing that could replace UNM?

Again...the Volcano would clash with Aland. The only Polynesian part is the Tiki room, and there's no way to connect the two.

Listen, you can think whatever you want, but from my own personal experiences and talking to guests, they are starting to tire of cartoon ride after cartoon ride. Eventually there will be a breaking point, and a lot of longtime visitors will be alienated.

I'd rather have both. MK needs a mature, thrill e-ticket to balance out the kiddie FLE, and there's not enough room for it in the Tiki Room.

Would I like something original? Sure, but if it's based of a character I really don't think a cartoon is the best idea.

Quick question, Do people in the fast pass line for Space get to play the games or only the long lines?
I'm pretty sure it's only the regular but was just curious.
