A Set of Goofy Observations

PERFECT way to describe EO... HISTA is REALLY overstaying it's welcome. That franchise of movies is long gone in the public eye. At least MJ would have some more relevance.

I was thinking about what could replace it.... what if they kept the same concept (invention exchange show gone wrong) but took out all of the HISTK characters and gave it a huge modern upgrade?

I personally like the Imagination Institute concept but I think its just not used to its full potential.

I would welcome it...HISTA is just very outdated, in terms or franchise and character and in tech.

I too like the Institute theme, but prefer the Dream Port. ;)

I know we are on the topic of Aland and Indy here it seems right now, but I just wanted to say that I think a good futureplacement for Stitch would be something to do with TRON there. It isn't Toony and fits the theme for TL well. I think it would be perfect.

I think a TRON attraction would fit better in DHS.

I'm torn about Indy. I think Adventureland needs a thrill ride (I actually think there should be a quality E thrill ride in all four corners of MK) and an Indy ride would be great... Much more if it were the mine car ride that was planned. But at the same time, an entire Indy section in DHS like what was planned for DL Paris would be fantastic. That park needs another big E. And I don't consider TSM a big E.

I agree. Put something NEW in AdvL. Something as uniqie to DL's IJA, but for us.

Why do we want repetition?

See, that's exactly what DHS does NOT need. Once Star Tours is complete, DHS will have the 3 of the biggest, if not THE biggest, E tickets in the parks. DHS needs to add to it's collection of smaller draws such as the stunt shows, stage shows, and dark rides, not another 2 hour line.

It needs those the most, along with DAK.

Eh...I'd really like to see that area be all Muppets, but that's just me.

Enh...Not any more. They'll never be able to recapture the awesomeness that is the era of Muppetvision.

I just know that Studios wants Pizza Planet totally devoid of Toy Story now, but it's popularity is overwhelming. Tron is coming, Tron is huge, and best of all: Cheap to retheme, easy to capitolize, and fits the area and Studios perfectly.

Keep the layout, keep the menu, keep the building and brickwork, just totally redeco the inside to Flynn's Arcade. Neon sign out front...Space Paranoids billboard...All the Tron classics themeing the interior, now stocked with retro machines and up to date simulator arcade installations fresh from Sega and Japan...And a new corner selling TRON and Tron Legacy merch on the ground floor, complete with a Lightcycle to pose with ala the speederbike.

I WANT THIS. I WANT THIS NOW.

Yeah, I still have to see Figgy, too.

And yes, MS is awesome. :D
Disney waited too long to capitalize. The movie came and went,as did the hype.

Not to mention Rick Moranis is no longer in acting, last I heard he was a country western singer. :D

When we were their October of 08' I immediately went to guest relations after we did HISTA, and complained (politely) about the print quality. The girl just stared at me blankly and then pretended to type something into the computer and said next guest please. I had a similar (but far worse) experience when I inquired about the Lights of Winter (Nov of 09') with an elderly gentleman at GR, the guy honestly gave me the company line about obsolete tech, I smiled at him and said 'How can the LOW be obsolete when the Electric Water Padgent you guys are running by the MK is still going? I mean it was in service when I was 13 (I am now 35) before the LOW were even installed?' He told me (curtly) I was entitled to my opinion.
Putz!

Very true about the EWP...

...Now I am scared for it.

I just have to say.. isn't cartoons and princesses what *MAGIC* Kingdom is all about?
If you want ANIMALS you go to DAK...if you want movie classics and pixar you go to HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS... if you want to see a litle bit of the world, you go to EPCOT... MK's basis is that magical Disney feel - and zebras or american idol..don't exactly add up to that... so if people are looking for a less "cartoonish" feel - they probably should visit a park that doesn't have MAGIC (make believe, pixie dust...) in its name.. just my opinion. Maybe I'm biased because MK has been my favorite park since I'm a child, and every single time I walk down main street, and get that same feeling I did when I was a kid... theres nothing like it. And as much as I love EVERY park in WDW - you can't compare to the magical feel of MK...and i think the character, princess, theme is what brings that to it...

Yeah, but an Indy section would be fantastic and I think would cut down on the lines. DHS does need more dark rides, but without another E those dark ride or show waits would be brutal. There's just not enough attractions in DHS to deal with those crowds.

They could still build that huge Indy mine car ride in AL, though.
