Alright all you mothers and mom-to-be's. I'm going in May and I'll be 7 months pregnant. How did you cope and any suggestions for making your trip enjoyable regardless of the less that comfortable position you may be in? Also, what did you ride if anything. I know the obvious is out, but other rides? My whole family is going for a magical gathering and I wouldn't miss going this trip at all. Any and all suggestions are welcomed. (We are staying at the Beach Club Villas)

Congrats to both of you!!!!

I had a great time when I went pregnant. I was 4 months pregnant at the time. Make sure you stay hydrated!!!! That is the biggest piece of advice! And to go with that, make sure you know where the bathrooms are! If you use a body pillow at home, make sure you bring it with you! Take lots of breaks. If you feel you need to sit, do it. Enjoy the pool at your resort!

Here is a thread about rides:

There are a few more that come up at the bottom of this page too.

Any other questions feel free to ask! Hope this helps!

Congrats to both of you :sohappy: I took my son for the first time last year and I was 7 months pregnant at the time. It was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Just pace yourself..and while they are riding something you cant..just hang out in the shade  Have a great time!!!

This is too funny. I have a cousin who is going in May, staying at BCV and will be 7 months along as well.

The only pieces of advice I can offer are the obvious. Drink TONS of water and take lots of indoor breaks.

I did WDW that far along. Twice, in fact, with both my first and third pregnancies. The only issue I had was needing to stop (frequently!) for potty breaks. I drank a lot of water (I prefer water over anything else, anyway), and I went on anything I felt comfortable riding. If you've been to Disney before, and are more familiar with the rides, it's helpful, because you know what you can tolerate, and what you can't. Even my OB told me I could ride anything I felt I could handle.

That far along, I didn't ride any of the coasters, or dinosaur or ToT, but I did go on the Safari, despite the dirty looks another woman was giving me.

I didn't find it all that bad, but I did have incredibly easy pregnancies. My DH bought me lots of snacks on those trips. :)

I also wanted to add that I would avoid the Pooh ride. There is a part where you bounce like Tigger and I felt AWFUL after going on it. I so wish that I had skipped it and let DH go on it alone with DS1.

Congratulations! I hope you have a wonderful time on your magical gathering!

We went in August when I was 7 months pregnant. It really wasn't too bad. I wasn't able to go on any of the thrill rides, but I did ride the basics like small world, haunted mansion, any of the kiddie rides except dumbo.

I really didn't mind the heat too much. The only day I was really bothered was at AK. There just aren't too many places to cool down in the ac there. And we ended up waiting in an hour line to see Mickey. I felt like I was going to die. I think I ended up sitting down in place.

I bought one of those fans that spray a water mist on that day. :D

Just drink plenty of water and try to duck into the ac when you can.

Is it 5:00 yet?
I went in December and I was 4 months pregnant...the only thing that really bothered me was my left knee started hurting like crazy. The added weight on my body and all the walking did it in...

The thing I liked though was I was able to fulfill all my food cravings...

Oh congrats to both of you!!!!!
Well I did Disney in the dead of September(just cause I was preggo did'nt mean I was changing our normal time of year going to Disney! LOL) I was 7 months along as well , got the ok from my Dr, my advice plenty of water....eat, eat, eat , why the hell not your preggo deal with it later....Plenty of bathroom breaks, I had a 3 year old who was potty trained so at that point they need to check out every bathroom which was ok because I needed it...and the cool air-condition of the bathroom did me good TIP ..one sandwiched next to crystal palace and casey's, right in the middle is the coldest!!!.

Take plenty of rests to put up those feet because at the end of the day , you'll end up with cankles....Can't really tell where your ankles and calf meet , yeah I had those, and I'm a pretty fit, active person so to have those...yeah interesting....But your preggo what can you do..

There was not too much I did'nt do other than the obvious, You know Splash Mountain , Space and such....I have seen and heard other woman doing them , me personally I just did'nt want to risk it...Plenty of time to do that next time....
But overalll pace yourself, you know your body, when your tired go back to the resort for swim or a nap....You need those even when your not preggo.
Last but not least, enjoy yourself, it goes by way to fast!!!

:sohappy:Congrats to all the Mommy-to-be's!! :sohappy:

Take your time, dont rush anything.... lots of water.... and put those feet up at night! You dont want to wake up the next day and not be able to go out. They might not be so bad, b/c May should not be so hot, but walking all day long, may give you a bad case of 'cankles'. And if you dont feel you should do something.... dont do it. Go with you gut instinct!! You know best.

Congrats to all the expectant mommies!!! :sohappy:

There is a lot of great advice given above - I would just add you may want to consider taking a golf seat. You can purchase at most sports stores. It's like a cane that has a seat that folds down (very light) and can come in handy when you are standing in line or when you just need a break without a seat in sight.

Have fun and enjoy your trip!!! :)

I went at 7 months and did just fine. I was also put on bedrest a couple of days after I returned!

I didn't go on any rides that had a warning for pregnant women (except for ET at US), and took it easy. I got a little tired, but not too bad - but I also lost weight during my pregnancy, so I wasn't very big.
