How did it end like crap? Whether it was a 45ft dribber down the foul line or a homerun, they got it done when they had to. We got to see a 5 man infield utilized which I know I don't think I've ever seen done.

After a hard-fought game...I would expect the winning team to actually win the game...not to basically have it given to you by the losing team.

A homerun would've been earned by the winning team. (AKA, an EARNED RUN). Runs scored on errors to win a game or walked in runs just make the win feel "unearned").

I'm not saying that it wasn't exciting to see the 5 man infield but how much MORE exciting would it have been if the 5-man infield actually worked!

BTW, I have no real connection to either of these teams so it doesn't matter who wins to me at all. (I would prefer to see Tampa Bay win it though because I'm an AL fan and I like how they've brought this team to where it is today.).

They'll finish this game in Philly, no doubt in my mind about that.

Man, I hate to say it...but the umps are really pulling for Tampa Bay aren't they?

Hear me out.

When was the last time you actually saw a field look like that and still have the teams playing? I don't think it was a coincidence that it got called RIGHT after Tampa tied it up.

That game should've been suspended after the Phillies got up. They knew that the weather wasn't letting up...but they decided to let Tampa Bay see what they could do. They got the upper hand because it's a LOT more difficult to play the field in conditions like that than it is in sunny, dry weather.

The score should be 2-1 Phillies...with Tampa Bay at the plate. (In Philadelphia).

After the strike zone discrepancies last night, I'd have to argue with you on that.

As for the weather, yes, it should've been stopped beforehand. That was unbelieveable sloppy conditions they were playing under, but can you imagine the uproar if the game had been stopped with the Phillies ahead and then Selig decided to make a rule on the fly and not give them the rain-shortened win? MLB breathed a HUGE sigh of relief when the Rays tied the score. Yes, I believe they let it go until Tampa could tie things up or until it became absolutely unplayable conditions (and it was like that).

Funny ha ha---The Tampa Devil Rays checked out of their hotel Monday before the game and since the game was halted due to weather the Westin Hotel in Philly was totally booked and they could not return to the hotel. They had to go to Wilmington, DE to the Hotel DuPont because it was the closest hotel to Philly that could hold the players and their entrouage.

I have no words. I don't think I have ever been so livid. You summed up my thoughts perfectly. As much as I didn't want them to win their championship in a called game, I hate that it gives TB the momentum that this does. While I don't think it was done intentionally for TB's favor, its just another example of this BS ump crew. :fork::fork:

That's ok, this city waited this long for a championship, they can wait one more day.

The field should have at least been tarped over long before the 6th.
I think they should stopped before they even started the 5th.

Totally agree. everyone at my house was flipping out. Wasn't fair to plan as the conditions worsened. I hate it that it's still raining here.

That is funny about the TB hotel situation! ha ha ha! :)

:shrug:I don't get the humor. They checked out because they were flying home after the game, regardless of the outcome and they had to get different rooms. What's so funny?

:brick: It's the Rays, not the Devil Rays. :brick:
