1-1. Got the makings of being a very good Series.

Are you going to be in WDW during games 6 and 7? I don't think I would be able to go to the parks!

Rough game for Philly last night. They have to find a way to score those baserunners. Can't wait for them to play at home. Not making excuses since they can't seem to drive home their baserunners, but a lot of people around here are pretty unhappy with some of those calls made behind the plate last night.

Care to make a friendly bet? :) Loser changes their avatar and PML sig for the oppposing team for a week.

Funny, but my wife and I were just talking about a possible Game 7. We will be in the parks that day, but we should be back to our rooms by 9:45, so we would still see most of the game. Let's just hope it doesn't go 7.

No avatar bets for me--I don't need the added pressure!

Aw ok...

Hopefully tomorrow night's game is not rained out. They're calling for steady rain just about all day here tomorrow. Rain or not, that place is going to be intense.

I have a cd player that is also a radio. So sometimes I can listen to some of the games while I am at the park :)

No lie...I was in Disney...in line for Dumbo...in 2004 when the Red Sox were beating the Yankees in Game 5 of the ALCS.

If only I had known back then. I didn't have an internet connection yet, but I was living down there and just kinda hanging out while I found a permanent home. Generally was looking for things to do most days and exploring a bit. But I would go down and hang out at the parks as well. I watched most of the playoffs that year down at the ESPN Club.

I feel sick after watching that last night.

How do you play a great game...and have it end like crap?

Honestly, that was the worst ending to a close World Series game I have ever seen. I think it could've only been worse if they walked 4 consecutive batters.

How did it end like crap? Whether it was a 45ft dribber down the foul line or a homerun, they got it done when they had to. We got to see a 5 man infield utilized which I know I don't think I've ever seen done.

What makes me sick is the horrible calls that TB keeps getting. I almost put my foot through the tv when Crawford was called safe when Howard barehanded that toss from Moyer. Ultimately TB scored 2 runs from that blown call. How about the other night Jimmy Rollins was clearly hit and was not given first base or a TB player being called out on a check swing strike 3 by the home plate ump only for the first base ump to call it a ball, leading to TB getting a walk. I know the umps are not perfect, no one is, but it's getting a little ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure no one around here cares what it took for that last run to cross the plate. All that matters is that it did.

I'll give you two of those arguments, but you need to relook at the third strike on Baldelli. When he checked his swing, the ump brought his right arm up, kept his hand open-palmed, and never signaled "strike" with the typical closed fist. He then motioned Baldelli to first base, Ruiz appealed, and the ump at first signaled safe. Go back and look again at the video of it. Confusing? Yes. But, he was never called out at any moment.

That being said, I thought Baldelli did NOT check his swing.

I was at work the night of that game so I wasn't watching as intently as I would have liked to. I do have it on my DVR so I'll go back and look at it.

Our cable went out last night during the Utley/Howard back to back HRs and I along with the majority of the Philadelphia suburban area missed them. It was out for about 20 mins. I was like a lunatic trying to get the radio plugged in and was able to hear Harry Kalas call the Utley HR.

Edit: No sooner did I hit submit that Baseball Tonight did a segment on the Umps in this series and their questionable calls and it affecting the outcomes of these games. I knew it wasn't me just being a wretched complaining Philly fan :)

Oh, I agree that the umps have had some very questionable/wrong calls in this Series. Fortunately (for me), most have benefited the Rays.
