We need to come up with a definitive idea for a park first, then we can find a way for the Muppets to fit into it.
It seems like myths and legends is the way this is leaning. It can incorporate nearly any idea we've come up with while still having an amazing consistent theme. Even Marvel could work as super heroes are sort of modern mythology. Though I know they are building Marvel Land in Hong Kong. So Iron Man, Ant-Man, and some other main Avengers should probably be avoided. But Dr. Strange could definitely work! Maybe even use the Hong Kong Sanctum as our Tower of Terror?

Good news is that Muppets can fit literally anywhere lol. So they'll fit in whatever park we do in some form haha. Maybe instead of an indoor Nemo themed area focused on kids, we have Muppets Search for Atlantis! Explore the sunken city with the Muppets as they hunt to uncover treasures and all.

Of course, we may not want to rush too fast into our overall theme and get committed to an idea before everyone shares their ideas too!

I like a lot of the ideas here, I think that the idea of a park based upon legends/folklore is fantastic as well as nature based park playing upon a hybrid of Disney's Animal Kingdom and DisneySea, since both are such great and unique parks :)

I see that the location of the park as it pertains to its theme has been considered - in this way, I think a park should be leaning towards that Animal Kingdom/DisneySea park :)

Another idea that I had was to built a park focused upon separate time frames within separate locations across the globe.

So the theme could include lands frrom various locations and times, examining culture and life from the past. Places like Ancient Egypt, Prehistoric Michigan/Canada/Ohio (12,000yo), and Ancient Greece and/or Rome. You can incorporate all the elements of the others, like nature and folklore. :D

The perfect second gate for any resort IMO is a combination of Animal Kingdom and Epcot to the scale of Tokyo Disney Sea.

I also really like @BlakeW39 's idea of time periods around the world. It would be cool to immerse you in Ancient Greece while edutaining you about the mythology of the country, as well as immersing you in the Pacific Northwest with the legends of Big Foot and such.

I'm all for combining the two ideas of legends/folklore while immersing you in time periods around the world. This can also bring in fan favorite attractions like Pirates, Expedition Everest, and other popular lands in Disney Parks (with our own touch) while giving us the opportunity to add so much more original ideas, IP based or not!

Too bad the folks at HKDL can't watch it because it's not coming out due to...reasons!

The “World Showcase” element proposed for WestCOT would’ve moved away from the specific nation model at Epcot, and had a more flowing design combining several cultures. So the “Asia’ section would’ve slowly transitioned in styles from Japan to Chine to Southeast Asia to India, and etc across several lands slowly transitioning to Europe, the Americas and elsewhere. Could make for an interesting edutainment approach to our myth/folklore concept, and can be incorporated with @BlakeW39’s journey across history.

I really like this idea! Sounds like a great concept for a theme park!

We could flip this around too. Seven Lands for seven continents could make for a pretty great park theme too. Disney's Atlas Kingdom or something like that. Incorporate myths and legends where we want them to enhance the around the world theme, but focus on the around the world theme as the main basis for the park. Each land focusing on the natural environments, man made wonders, history, and cultures of the various countries we choose to represent the continents. With the myth angle coming as a secondary thing to enhance the lands rather than the focus of the park. Would definitely make adding IP easier.

Or we keep the myth/legends as the main theme using the around the world aspect to enhance it.

I really like the suggestion of a DisneySea/DAK hybrid! That is something I've wanted to see done on the forum for a long time!

Something to consider with Hong Kong from what @D Hindley had mentioned from his trip is the humidity - so a decent amount of indoor attractions or attraction queues in shaded areas?

Definitely! It would be crazy to build a land without adquate shade or indoor areas in a hot, humid environment!

I must be getting old or just at a time where I appreciate the little shaded corners and benches in the parks. Like in Canada the walking path near the waterfall - had no idea that even existed until this year!

I wrote my part of a project for SYWTBAI Season 14 on that bench lol. I think it was the campground one

One of the best hideaway places to relax in WDW

If we are continuing with the mythology theme, Norse Mythology would be pretty cool. No IPs though other than Marvel’s Thor kind of.
Ooh, mythology for the Hong Kong second gate? That is what we're talking about right? I haven't caught up with the posts. If nobody has said this already, we should include Beastly Kingdom. cough I have a post or two about the land in my park's thread cough :p

If we're talking DAK/DisneySea Hybrid, I definitely think the mythology/culture route is perfect, but as I have studied Chinese culture extensively in a Chinese history and culture class, I have learned that Chinese (and Hong Kong by extension) culture love visiting zoos and aquariums. Incorporating live animals I think would definitely be an important aspect to look into as Hong Kong's biggest rival (Ocean Park) often does even better than HKDL in ticket sales. Whether it be dolphins or pandas, any sort of live animal incorporation would really draw in the Chinese markets especially.
