Sometimes the smell of oranges could be overwhelming. I remember a couple of rides when you could anticipate the little, off in the distance orange grove because the smell was so powerful

The Orange Grove scene in Soarin will probably always remind me of Horizons . . .

Worst idea the imagineers have ever had, well maybe not as bad as SGE but let's replace the nice peaceful look into the future with a simulator that makes me vomit and see spots after I get off!!!

Great ride. One of the best pieces of theme park entertainment ever.

Many was the time I was by myself and would let the ride pick my ending. More often than not I got desert. :lol: I would also always try and see around the partitions on either side of me to see which ending others chose.

I was always happy when my ride vehicle was in the middle of the IMAX screen and I got to fly over the microchip.

The fake shrimp in the shrimp cocktail you could see in the window of undersea eatery always made me hungry. :lookaroun (then again, I'm pretty much always hungry. Back when I was riding Horizons it was really ridiculous).

Just a fantastic immersive theatrical experience from start to finish. I wonder if they'll ever make another ride like this.

Sometimes the memory of riding Horizons is far better than the thought of reading a thread on how it needs a major refurb, or the refurb it received lacked proper attention and vision from the imagineers. Regardless, I truly did enjoy it while it lasted.

In the fall of 2002 I was in Osaka, Nagoya, and Kyoto. At the time I was unaware of existence of TDR. I don't like to think about it. :lol: Even the pics on the web look amazing.
