    Driving from Northern New Jersey

Your plan is not so good. Leaving Northern NJ on a Friday Morning means that you will hit DC on a Friday Afternoon, the worst possible time. Change your plans, or expect it to take 4 to 5 hours to get from Baltimore to Richmond, maybe longer if the weather is bad.

:lookaroun Four posts, all caps, no facts. Three strikes, you're out.

Even though you've been there so many times, what attraction haven't you done?

Wow, to each his own, but I would go insane touring with your group. What exactly do you do, that keeps you from arriving until 11:00 am? I am not an early riser, especially on vacation, but we get up around 7:30 or 8, shower and eat, and are easily in the parks in less than an hour. Oh well.

I feel like stirring the pot....

The problem with the future is that it rapidly becomes the past. When Horizons was new in 83 it was cutting edge, and it was fabulous. My wife and I rode three times in a row, back to back, just so that we could do all three endings, and to see if we could time it so that the JBL's were...

ATTN. NY Metro Area Drivers to WDW

I used to drive from Baltimore to WDW straight through, by myself. It makes for a very long day, but it can be done. Add three hours to that trip, NYC to B'more, and that is pushing it too far for a straight through run in my opinion, so an overnight stay in NC/SC/GA is advisable. Actually...

    Cynthia Harris Leaving Disneyland Resort

Ok, I have worked with/for those types as well, and it is tough. You want to believe them, after all they are being nice to you to your face, but they think only of their own self preservation and if that means screwing you, oh well. Inefectual politician. I hope we get our Disneyland back...

    Monorail Expansion

I live in Phoenix. We have busses here in Phoenix, we have cars, and we have taxis. What we don't have is a monorail, or people movers for that matter. When I land at the Orlando Airport we get on a monorail (yay) and then we get our bags and get on a bus (boo) and then get to our rental...

longest posted wait time you've seen

I was there for a day by myself back then. I ran from the rope drop to the ride and there was already a 30 minute wait (must have been a magical morning or something that let the "special" people in), but because that line is so interesting I certainly didn't mind the wait. When I got out of...

    Cynthia Harris Leaving Disneyland Resort

By all accounts she is a very nice person, who cared for her employees and the park...But. For her first three years as president of DL she worked directly under Paul Pressler, and Paul was a bad guy, a clothes merchant with no understanding of the magic, (and now the he is at the Gap, they are...

Most annoying things people say that not true

and the Long Beach Pike...., mostly cheesy crummy dirty, things that Walt hated. I know it is horribly overused, but if Walt were alive he never would have allowed that part of DCA to be built.

    Cynthia Harris Leaving Disneyland Resort

Leaving for "personal reasons" = fired. Doesn't necessarily mean scandal, just means that someone else decided that she had to go. Good Riddance. In an ironic twist, I saw on the travel channel show about DCL, that they have a policy called something like "MainStreet DCL", which means that...

Is Soarin' over California better than nothing?

Wow did you ever justify putting this attraction, exactly as it is, in Epcot. Epcot has always been the "education is fun" park, and this film will show you what California has to offer, as the most geographically diverse state in the union. The two major metro areas, the deserts, the farms...

    Is Disney Handling this Well?

There are certain types of people who will postpone buying a TV, because in a few years there will be a new technology, or the same thing with computers, a new chip is coming, so "I'll wait". To me that just means living with something outdated for even longer, I want the best stuff available...

Trip Report Part II - Oct. 4 thru Oct. 8, 2003

Excellent reports, "...and you tell it with such enthusiasm". I don't think I could go to WDW without a visit to TOT, but other than that it sounds like you had a great trip, complete with the little annoyances that are inevitable on a trip to the world. I really laughed about...

    M:S Party details!

That is very cool, I hadn't thought that they would do such a production, but then again it is a $100 million dollar ride, and it has one of the few remaining corporate sponsors to make happy. You were very fortunate to get to participate.

    Stitch’s Great Escape! Official!

I am sort of ambivalent about the whole thing. We liked AE ok, we would see it only once a trip, never twice in the same trip. Space mountain or Big Thunder or HM, we will do back to back (or back to back to back) if the lines are short, but always see these rides more than once during a...

Magic Gath'ings - what about parties under 8?

This thread is a bit of a train wreck, so here goes; Becky, the price is not $1340 for a savings of $40, it is $896, a savings of $444. Not sure where you saw the $1340 price, but the press release says $896. MinnieMouseUK, magical gatherings is a program to help larger groups enjoy...

There are Contemporary Garden Wing rooms that have beautiful views of Bay Lake, very relaxing.

    Cruise w/a 2 1/2 year old

You will hear a lot of differing opinions on this, but I think that is too young. You have to ask yourself who are you doing it for? If it is for your son, think about how much you remember from when you were two. One travel writer did a survey of kids under 8 and asked them what was the most...

    carribean beach ?

At the Caribbean Beach or other moderate resorts, we no longer pay to upgrade, as I don't feel it to be worth the money. The reason is that the walkways go between your room and the view, so if you have your curtains open, you get to see people walking by all the time, which is not very...
