We usually plan to go in late January, this time we are heading down Feb 28th to March 6th, right before the spring break rush. I'm hoping the crowds are reasonable.
I'm glad we were able to stay there back in 2011, my daughter loved it so much. I just showed her the pictures and she said "first they tear down Maelstrom and now they ruined my favorite resort, why?" Already nostalgic at 14.
I wouldn't mind if they added RSR. Carsland was packed when I was in DL in June. It was insanely popular with 120+ wait times. The theming of the area is top notch.
From the article:
(which will make use of dimensional sets, animatronic figures and film footage to recreate memorable scenes and characters from that Chris Buck/Jennifer Lee film)
Sounds like we can expect an animatronic or two and screens, lots of screens. Enjoy the scenes you have already...
When I told my 13 year old daughter about the change she said, and I quote "That sucks, I love the trolls and I'm so sick of Frozen". Her favorite park is epcot btw.
In May, Disney CEO Bob Iger said "Frozen" was one of Disney's top five franchises ever. "So you can expect us to take full advantage of that over the next at least five years," he said.
Uhhhggg...5+ years of milking this mediocre movie.
So by early 2016 will anyone care about Frozen anymore? My daughter is completely sick of it and was really disappointed that they are replacing Maelstrom.
I bet they will pick something simple like Disney Movieland.
I don't care what they call it, just add something to do there, something that will keep me there for more than half a day.
The only shoes I have ever worn to the parks are North Face ultra 106 gtx xcr gore-tex trail running shoes. They are lightweight, breathable, and the only shoes I've found that don't need to be broken in and are comfortable right out of the box.
