    Riverside or French Quarter...

FQ, for reasons mentioned previously, the resort's compact size and the bus advantages, not to mention the decor and theming. Have stayed at RS twice, and there's nothing wrong with it, but prefer FQ. Next trip: Nov. 29-Dec. 5 POFQ:xmas:

    OK....I need help...POR or POFQ????

We have stayed at both, including a stint at Alligator Bayou in 2005. We prefer POFQ because it is more compact. It is a long walk from Alligator Bayou to the PORS main building, if you choose not to wait for the bus. Hope this helps. Next trip: Nov. 29-Dec. 5, POFQ:xmas:

    Alligators in WDW?

I have seen several gators at the various WDW golf courses, particularly the Palm and Magnolia. A playing partner told the tale of hitting his ball into a pond in front of a par 3 at the Magnolia, and being confronted by a gator when he went to try and retrieve his ball. Needless to say he left...

Any Park Rituals That You Do?

Eating Mickey bars, riding Test Track as many times as possible (single-rider line speeds up the process), riding SSE mere minutes after arriving at Epcot, breakfast at Chef Mickey's (along with plenty of character photos), dinner at Chefs de France and Nine Dragons, watching Wishes, taking in...

    Golf Planning for December Trip

You can get a free taxi ride to any WDW course. Just check with the bell desk for a voucher. Under a new program, club rentals are free for anyone staying on property, so you don't even have to bring your sticks. All the courses are great, you can't go wrong with any of them. Lake Buena Vista...

Best of Christmas at Disney World

Christmas is the best You will love Christmas at WDW. Besides MVMCP, The Osborne Family spectacle of lights, the Candlelight Processional (truly stirring), there are the holiday storytellers at the different countries in EPCOT, plus the decorations in all the parks, and in the resorts. It is...

    When to go in December?

Early December's a good time to go, all the decorations and holiday festivities, but without the elbow to elbow crowds of the week between Christmas and New Year's. Next trip: Nov. 29-Dec. 5, POFQ

Which Epcot Ride has (had) the best music?

Impressions de France has the best music of any Epcot show, but the old Listen to the Land music was the best of any ride, followed closely by Imagination and Horizons. Next trip: Nov. 29-Dec. 5, Port Orleans French Quarter:)

Where would you be right now?

My wife and I would be at EPCOT, probably riding Test Track and thinking about chowing down on a couple of Mickey ice cream bars afterwards. 298 days until our next trip. Nov. 2009, Port Orleans French Quarter.

Walt Disney World rocks my socks because...

Walt Disney World is the best. Every other theme park is striving to live up to Disney's standards, but all fall short. The entire Disney experience is magical. It makes us feel like kids again, and it has everything — rides, characters, great food, outdoor activities, water parks, etc. What...

    M.K. or Epcot?

Epcot's the one We generally always start, and end, at Epcot. It's our favorite. Last trip: May 2008, Port Orleans French Quarter Next trip: Fall 2009:kiss:

    What keeps you going back?!?

When I was a kid, I dreamed of going to Disneyland. I was a Mickey Mouse Club member (complete with my own set of ears) and a faithful viewer of "Wonderful World of Color." When I became an adult I vowed I would go to Disneyland. I've yet to make it, but made my first trip to WDW in 1983. I have...

    Homesick for Disney?

I start getting fired up about a Disney trip from the day it is booked. We watched the video of our last trip (Nov. 2006) and it was all we could do to not start driving to the airport. Our countdown calendar has reached 64 days. We can't wait! Our first stop will be Epcot.:animwink: Next...

Port Orleans - Riverside or French Quarter?

We have stayed at both, and there is little difference in the rooms. French Quarter is more compact, is first on the bus route and the pool (and slide) are great. The grounds of French Quarter are more attractive than Riverside. Next trip: May 20-27. POFQ:p

    What are your disney TRADITIONS????

WDW Traditions We always go to Epcot first and last, it's our favorite. We always eat breakfast once at Chef Mickey's, and dinner at as many World Showcase restaurants as we can. Mickey Bars are almost a daily treat. Can't miss rides are POTC, Test Track, Haunted Mansion, and others. An evening...

    Riverside or French Quarter ?

French Quarter Being of a similar age, I would recommend French Quarter. It's compact, quiet and beautiful. Riverside is nice, too, but a bit too spread out for those of us who are getting, shall we say, a little older.:p
