Homesick for Disney?

To some of us, Disney World is our second home. I was just sitting here watching the Hoop-De-Doo Revue on Youtube and started crying.:ROFLOL:I am so homesick for disney... My last trip was in Nov.07 and since im planning my wedding, i wont be going back down until Nov. 09!!! Sometimes i will smell something and immediately think of something in disney! Does anyone else get like this? What is something that you miss while your away from "the world"?
*P.S. NO DOLE WHIPS!! because that is a given..lol. who doesnt crave a dole whip???!!!

I know exactly what you mean! I have been so homesick for WDW recently too! Everytime I see the commercial where Cinderella's coach comes to pick the family up I am like "come pick me up!" No such luck yet though. ;) With me my move to Orlando keeps getting pushed back and back and its driving me crazy :brick:!

What I miss most is EPCOT, for some reason I have been in a really EPCOT mood lately.

I know the feeling. Our last trip was also November 07, and I cannot stop thinking about our next trip this November. Its not gonna come soon enough. And I'm really gonna miss staying at POR, that is where we stayed for the first time, we usually stay at Pop every year, and I really loved POR!!! Sooo cozy, so peaceful, so different from those loud values. But everyday I get homesick from wdw, it will never go away unless I am physically there.

Funny, my last trip was in Nov as well.
The other day i was cleaning and I smelled 'the Land', it was weird but made me really homesick for wdw.

I'm excited for going out for St Patty's day tonight but I would rather be going to the AC!

The best smell at WDW is Space Mountain and always feel at home when i smell it.

I wake up every day wishing I was in one of the rooms at Pop Century. I wear my rhinestone mouse ear necklace that I got on the trip for Christmas every day & listen to the park music CDs in the car, but it's not the same. I check the mail hoping to get something from the YOAMD mail in contest, but so far, nothing.

When it comes to wanting a dole whip, I drink pineapple juice & I just found pineapple sherbert at Wal-Mart. It tastes a lot like a dole whip, but only if it's been sitting out for a while so it's softer.

I have such a connection to WDW that random things will spark my homesickosity fairly easily. The homesickness though pales in comparison to the feeling of restlessness I get when my trip is right around the horizon

I/we usually start getting homesick for Disney just about the time we're leaving Orlando (on our way home). :) For sure, I know what you mean, and it is sure a blessing to be able to come on 'the boards' and feel a little of the magic. Hope your wedding is the best and wishing you that the time flys by (and your back at Disney before you know it).

Isn't it weird when that happens? Every now and then, usually in the summer, I catch a smell of "disney water" and am like why am I not on Splash Mountain or Pirates right now?!?!

Dole whips are a little piece of pineapple heaven. Its soft serve pineapple sherbet. (at least thats what i think it is.) And you can get it in a Dole Whip Float which is pineapple juice with the pineapple sherbet and vanilla custard on top. When its 85 degrees out, there is NOTHING like a Dole Whip.:slurp:

My last trip was may 2006, im seriously home sick.. I try to get my fill by watching youtube and the vacation planning dvd and of course coming on here....several times a day!

I know a lot of peeps here are insane for the Dole Whips. I've tried one and didn't go all bonkers. I don't care much for sherbet or pineapple so that's probably why. Now if they had one that was like Coke Float flavored that would be entirely different.... LOL!

For the OP, looking at vacation pics makes me all homesick. When I watch other peoples' vacation videos on youtube or look at the WDW Pic of the Day thread that does it big time, too. Problem is these are my favorite things to look at so I torture myself regularly. :lol: I'm so pitiful.

I start getting fired up about a Disney trip from the day it is booked. We watched the video of our last trip (Nov. 2006) and it was all we could do to not start driving to the airport. Our countdown calendar has reached 64 days. We can't wait! Our first stop will be Epcot.:animwink:

Next trip: May 20-27, POFQ

After a week of WDW I'm usually Disney'd out. However, as we arrive at the Monorail and I look back at the Castle, I begin to feel bummed out. How long will be be before I'm back? Right now, we are scheduled:sohappy: for the first week of Dec. '08. BUT that could change and it usually does.

Yeah, I feel like whatever someone says or do or something I see always brings me back or reminds me of WDW. Sometimes I say it out loud, and other times I keep it ot myself and enjoy the moment.

I wish I were there right now, maybe having a character dinner or going back to my resort to freshen up to go to dinner.

Ahhhhhhh.

There is a new mall in our area with "aged" wooden bridges. It smells like Pirates of the Caribbean to me. So when I'm missin' the world, we drive over the bridges with the windows down. Then I get sad :lol: :cry:
