Will the Little Mermaid ride be changed?

To my knowledge, there are no plans to change the attraction. The box office results would squash even any remote discussion.

People should temper their expectations outside of two animatronics in particular. The word "animatronic" has a broad spectrum of meaning.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

And I was right. That's why it took them from two years to come up with a plan for what the heck this thing would be. They had a blue sky drawing and that was it. Then when it was taken to structural engineering, they discovered the building couldn't be retrofitted to look like the concept, the...

Magic Kingdom getting a mixed light parade? I trust this source?

Talk about resurrecting a zombie thread. Since the original post references a story I covered, here's some additional info on the subject: The plan prior to the pandemic was to make a parade for the 50th that would incorporate floats, performances and music from a multitude of Disney parades...

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

No insult intended, but it seems to me unethical to take a room that might be used by a stranded tourist otherwise.

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

It was always just blue sky art they quickly pulled out to protect Disney+ from boycotts during summer of 2020. The tree destroyed sightlines, weighed too much, the attraction was never built to support such a thing, and it would have been a major issue to maintain. I've been reporting on this...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Actually, that number came from a publicly-posted audit. If you want to scroll through my post history hard enough, it's in there shared on this site. As for "true insiders" and foul artic fowl, all I can tell you is that I'm in direct contact with the daughter of a Song of the South actor as...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Because Oscars management knew Zip-a-dee-doo-dah had won the Oscar and because the movie was one of the most financially successful, it put pressure to award Baskett. He deserved better than an "honorary" award. Awards are known by committees prior to reception, especially in days prior to...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Yes but the Oscar for Best Original Song put pressure to give him the award. I'm not even sure the Hollywood elite of the time let him speak when he accepted. You really have to admire Walt Disney for making that sort of a glass ceiling break possible.

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

You're forgetting: the song Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, which won an Oscar for an African American man for the very first time (James Baskett), is now officially "irrelevant."

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

None of this explains why Disney would suddenly announce a new ride with nothing more than two images, then spend years trying to design what that ride might be. There are blue sky ideas for a multitude of things.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

It's actually pretty easy to see now that I was correct. The blue sky stuff they had for a Tiana redo of Splash Mountain was very sparse. They pulled it out at the height of tensions in the summer of 2020. We can now see that two years later they're still doing "research" trips and planning...

The 27.5 Billion dollar time bomb Iger left Chapek

If we're talking time bombs that Iger left, this isn't the only one. Should China invade Taiwan, the mess Disney will have on its hands with Shanghai and Hong Kong Disney theme parks will be gargantuan.

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

The replacement had better be marvelous. Because Tokyo and the Oriental Land Company are always going to have Splash Mountain in its original form, working perfectly, shining a light on whatever Disney comes up with. In the words of the Imagineers themselves, this " had better be outstanding.
