Because the main engine failed and the ski lift went into an uncontrolled rollback and the emergency brakes didn't stop it. I know your question is probably lighthearted or maybe a bit sarcastic, but that's a serious thing that happened. People could've died if thrown far or hard enough...

That's a rollback, and you may not be able to stop it just by hitting the emergency stop.

I don't believe the doors are locked, so I would assume that once the ride has stopped spinning, you could leave, although I've never thought to leave early. Also I doubt announcements are made every time a person leaves, not to mention that if it was a Disney emergency requiring evacuation...

I mean, it's such a riveting movie!

Honestly, keep everything exactly the same except for a new, smooth track in the same configuration and I'd be happy. I love the ride, just not what it did to me the last time I rode it.

What are you, the Disney job gatekeeper, saying whose job has worth and whose doesn't? That's a pretty rude thing to say, and for probably a large part of them, they may not be able to just get a "better job." But I'm glad they can all look to you for words of encouragement.

In the grand tradition of these recent infant and tattoo posts, how long do you think it'll be before Disney starts changing your infants for you? I mean, if they're going to charge full price, or at least full children's price, for them, they should provide more amenities like that, no?

I haven't gotten to see the new version yet, although I will in May :) But yes, I did always enjoy that original version.
