I think that Fantasmic lost a whole lot of its spunk when the WDW version was made. They should have stayed true to what worked, and modeled it more closely to the DLR version. The huge ampitheatre probably hurt it the most, as it's pretty hard to get "swept up" in the action when you're that...

Like JWG said, it's really not that big of a deal. I've been on two cruises, and they were two of my favorite vacations ever. Could I tell you the name of the two ships though? Nope. All I know is they were both Carnival. Most people don't care what the name of their ship is, but they will know...

The biggest upside (for people who care) is that you get as much time as you want, with no character attendants hurrying you on your way. There's no other families in there, and the characters aren't "lovin n shovin" so you have a lot more time to get lots of good pictures, instead of just one...

You will get two of these guys (usually Minnie & Goofy, or Mickey & Pluto), but if you're really lucky, you'll get them when they're changing out and you'll get all four. Donald used to be in the mix, but he hasn't been there in a while EDIT: HOLY HUGE PICTURES.... sorry, haven't used...

From what I've heard, that's a misconception. Someone once explained it to me, and heck if I remember all the scientific reasoning, but basically they word the description in a way that makes you think that, but technically it's not really faster than the speed of gravity. :shrug:

Are you sure you were in a party zone? If so, You must have hit it on an off day- was it raining (pouring?) by any chance? If not, they were likely having some technical issues that made them run a contingency show instead... all of those things are definitely still present in the DHS version!
