2 Characters in 1 place?

I know that Disney is very careful as to not allow two of the same character to be in the same place at the same time but a thought occured to me:

Character Dining and Parades. I am not sure how many character dining restaurants sit along the various parade routes but I know for sure that the Liberty Tree Tavern does. How do they ensure that Goofy isnt standing next to your table and outside the window in MK Parade? Do they stop having characters walk around the restaurant during the Parades or do they hope this type of situation doesnt happen?

yeah that thread really does not answer your question, but i learned the hard way many people on the site will not discuss this. They think its a public site and should not discuss it. But i am sorry to say i do not know the answer and wish i did also.

IIRC the LTT does not have any windows in the dining rooms that look out front. The front of the building is the check-in and waiting area.

In fact I don't remember windows at all in the dining areas. I could be wrong.

But the point is moot anyway, as they are dropping character dining from LTT.

I don't recall any other character meals that are close enough to the parade route to make a difference.

Interesting question...I've never thought about that one. But now that I've seen this thread and been made to think about it, I'm not sure that it's even an issue because I'm not sure if there are any character restaraunts on parade routes. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, but here are some character restaraunts that come to my mind:

Crystal Palace...not on a parade route as far as I know.

All Epcot character restaraunts...non issue since Epcot doesn't have a character parade. At least I don't think they do anymore...

1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickeys, Cape May Cafe...all resort restaraunts and therefore not applicable to the question. Same for any other resort restaraunts that I may have forgotten.

No Character restaraunts at Hollywood Studios that I know of.

Possibly the one at Animal Kingdom, but I don't know if it's on the parade route or not.

So that pretty much just leaves Liberty Tree Tavern. Although it no longer has character dining, I suppose your scenario could have taken place there when it did have. So good question...did they have characters stop appearing at those times, lest you see Minnie at a table on your way out, and then see her in the parade as soon as you get outside?

Does the parade route go close enough to Cinderella's Royal Table that you may be able to look down out the window and see the characters at the same time that they are going around the tables? I can't remember exactly what route the parade route takes.

I know that I've seen a parade pass while eating at Crystal Palace.

The thought never crossed my mind to look for Winnie the Pooh's doppelgänger though.

Windows or not, I suppose it's conceivable that you would see Minnie at a table on your way out of the restaraunt, and then get outside and see her in the parade, causing your child to ask how she was able to change clothes and get in the parade so quickly.

But really most people would be so interested in eating or meeting the characters that they may not be looking out the window at the exact time that Pooh & friends go by.

Because she used pixie dust to change really fast!!

No windows look out onto parade route.

However, one time I ate there, our group walked into the castle as the parade was going down Main Street, shortly after we checked in Cindy herself entered the lobby. We ask how she got there so quickly and she talked about the "trap doors" that helped her get around. Either she was talkin' about the utilidoors (unlikely) or it was a good "in character" kind of excuse.

If I had the chance to ask Cinderella a question, I'd ask her the question that's been bugging me for some time now; when the clock stroked Midnight and the magic wore off and everything turned back the way it was, then why did her glass slippers not disappear as well?:D:lol:

I could be wrong but I know there is a break between lunch and dinner seatings. It could be during the parade time. I can't for the life of me remember what time that is - with the parades at 3, maybe that is when the meal break is. I honestly can't remember. But I would assume that Disney has thought of this and they are very careful to make sure two characters are not in the same area at the same time.

There are, in fact, windows that allow you to see the parade from LTT, but you will never see any of the characters in the dining area as they are passing in the parade......... because of course, they're in the parade. :)

You can hear the audio of spectro from the backstage area behind the kitchen of LTT, where the characters get ready to go out. Take that as you will.

It was a sounviner from her Fairy Godmother. Hence the "Thank you. Thank you so much, for everything." Good thing she gave it to her or there wouldn't have been a happy ending! The other one had to stay there to secure her life with the prince. It was all pre-planned by the old broad.

This kinda happened on our recent trip. We were at AK walking to camp Minnie Mickey. We didn't relize the parade had stared, so we snaked our way in and out of shops ad worked our way to camp Minnie Mickey for the Lion King show. As we passed the parade my daughter watched some and when we got to CMM Mickey, Minnie and Donald were out signing autographs. My daugther wanted to know how they were there if they were just in the parade .So I told her the floats let them off here so you can meet them. We missed the show getting autographs btw. No one was over there and the characters spent alot of time with her.:sohappy:

When we ate at LTT in Dec, we were there during a parade. The characters were not out in the dining room while the parade was going on. They were too busy being part of it! Once the parade was done, they came right back to LTT to greet diners again!
