Main Gate uses in California

Greetings everyone, I'm a resident lurker who is coming out of hiding!

I'm a former cast member that is traveling to Disneyland with a friend who is still active with the company. When I worked for Disney, a Florida cast member could visit the California parks with their main gate but the uses did not count against the allotment of 12 uses that a CM is allowed to have in Florida.

When I left Disney there was some discussion about changing this policy since both parks were migrating to a new shared ticketing system. I know they are now able to scan and verify a Florida main gate directly at the turnstyles. Are these uses now counting against FL site CMs when they visit Disneyland? Suffice to say this will make us change our plans quite a bit if this is the case!

I know some people were talking about this recently (few months ago), and there was a case where some were counted, but then other's were not. I don't think we ever got to the bottom of what the current rules are.

I'd say check the HUB. If you can't find exactly what you are looking for, I'm sure there is a number you can call.

Ha, I don't have portal access. If I did this would be a lot easier. I will tell my friend to read up and see if Disney ever clarified the policy. Chances are WDC isn't giving a straight answer on the matter intentionally.

Last I remember hearing, Florida maingates used in California were counted against the total number of admissions allotted.

Yea using the maingate does count against. This won't pertain to you but others may wonder- If you are going to DL and work at WDW you (the CM) has to use the maingate to get in but unless you are getting people in it won't count against you.

I'm going to DL in June and finally figured this out after asking everyone.

I went and used my maingate at DL in March and it did not count againt me. It only counts against you if you get other people in with you, the castmemeber themselves alone no.

Along these lines, also know that if your maingate is blocked out, so are you- even if you're not getting other people in with you (this is for a WDW CM going to DLR. Not sure about the other way around)
