Water park crowds last week in June?

We're flirting with the idea of going in the last week of June this year (it's the only time we can go) and one concern is the crowd level in the water parks. We love the water parks and 2 in our group are content with the super-low key stuff like the lazy river and kid areas. In early May, the...

Flying with Kids w/New TSA Screenings

I'm totally dismayed with the new "security" procedures. I strongly object to the abuse of power by the TSA. Police have more restrictions on their searches than the TSA agents. We have no way of knowing if the scanners are working properly and delivering a "safe" dose of radiation. An X-ray...

Looking for Disney pet items. only in the world 3 more days

I saw a limited number of pet items in the World of Disney store at Downtown Disney Marketplace at the start of May. They seem to have greatly cut back on the offerings compared to the past. Good luck!

    Pack's in WDW

I wear one on vacation, as does my husband. We each carry a water bottle attached with one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Water-Bottle-Holder-Aluminum-Carabiner/dp/B0018L1TTQ/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1274929496&sr=8-5 I don't have to worry about keeping track of it. I can...

    water parks and shoes....

I agree boating/water shoes are best. But my daughter is very spirited and shall I say... independent in her thinking. Some battles are not worth fighting, especially on vacation! The tether kept the shoes from getting lost when in the water and her feet safe out of the water.

    What Makes You Come Back

I keep going back because when I am there, the world works the way it is supposed to. I can pretend that poverty, crime, litter, rudeness, and stress don't exist. Families relax together. Adults get in touch with their inner child. The trains run on time. Mornings start with songs and end...

    Last day at the world

MK for last day We always spend our last day at the Magic Kingdom and linger on Main Street. (We've never seen the Kiss Goodnight despite this). We then slowly make our way to the boat to the transportation and ticket center, generally in tears. We stand on the top level of the boat at the back...

    water parks and shoes....

Darling Daughter refused to wear boating shoes (the type that slip on and easily stay on all day). So I took a bottle holder strap from the Animal Kingdom, ran it through the straps of her sandals, back through itself and hung it from my shoulder whenever we went into the crosscountry river or...

    Protecting Your Children!

I used harnesses on both my kids. They are WONDERFUL. You don't have to hold a curious toddler's hand. They feel independent, yet you can keep them from wandering off. I have not used them at WDW specifically since they were either too young or too old for them, but I'd not hesitate a second...

Why do you stay off site?

I stay off site for the money and the convenience. We rent a condo near the entrance and get to have the perks of home: the ability to accommodate different sleep schedules, snoring, light sleepers, a fridge for takeout/leftovers, a microwave to heat those leftovers, a washer/dryer to cut down...

    The Generic Merchandise

I'm sorry to hear that the merchandise selection is even worse than when I was last there in 2005. I really want to spend money on loot. But when each store in the park has the same generic items, it takes all the fun out of shopping at the parks. And it reduces the amount of money I'll spend...

Is it safe to fly Delta Airlines?

Delta is fine I've flown on Delta and they're fine. I'm a very reluctant flier myself, so I empathize. But I last flew with them in March and it was terrific. The staff was friendly and courteous. (Quite an updgrade from my last run-in with USAirways in '05) You can do it!

    Disappointed by merchandise in parks...

sent the letter... care to join me? I did indeed send a letter to Disney about the merchandising and general decline in "good show" I've observed at the parks. D-Troops has a fantastic article up today called "The True Magic Kingdom" which focuses on how Mainstreet has been turned into dare I...

What do you look forward to when going..?

The purple road signs that tell me I am on property. The sight of Cinderella's castle as I approach the Magic Kingdom. The joy and FREEDOM I feel from worry and responsibilities and deadlines. The sights and sounds of mainstreet. The Spectromagic parade and Fireworks. I could truly be satisfied...

    Disappointed by merchandise in parks...

Am I the only one who is noticing a real decline in the merchandise offered in the parks? It seems to me that all of the shops are the same. You can get princess gowns for kids, t-shirts, autograph books, and stuffed animals. But where is the neat stuff that cries out "buy me!" when you stumble...
