Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I can't help but think it's to satisfy public perception and to help mitigate potential liability. They really provide little protection and maybe a negative health impact considering all the face touching they will inspire. And I'm not anti mask necessarily, just repeating what I've heard from...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

It doesn't work like a store that you or I would own. It's not about the day or the short term, it's about the big picture and they have to get back after it to make the Disney machine work. It's coming soon.

    WDW Reopening Estimates

Watched a few videos of Shanghai Disneyland and other than not being super crowded and everyone wearing a mask, it looks absolutely normal. I'd be all over that like a fat kid on a cupcake.

We're a few days away from canceling ours in favor of a beach somewhere. No Bueno...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

I'm with you 98% here. Lol. I believe that medical data is enough to do what we need to do now. But I've thought about how a lot of Disney visitors are in that target group. I'm not saying open everything up instantly and stupidly or base it in me going nuts inside, but based on the pure numbers...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

Fortunately we do know a lot about it right now. Months of numbers and data and tracking millions of people. How it's spread and not spread. We know what factors make you at risk, etc. Duration of being contagious, there isn't much we don't know. I've seen media throw some maybe scenarios that...

Oh yes. Anti-vaxers are clearly wrong, but it's been a decades long fight. That's all.

    WDW Reopening Estimates

Lol. This issue with anti-vaxers is age old. And isn't likely to be resolved soon. Also, the regular seasonal flu has a vaccine every year. The flu kills between 40k and 60k people a year and over half the people don't bother with it. Its all one big head scratcher.

You mean just can't make new ones? The ones I've made are still showing up.

    WDW Reopening Estimates

Maybe they're full enough to accomplish the 50% capacity in June and don't want to over book?

Hey, I'm in Kansas City. And you're 100% right. Our Mayor's 10/10/10 plan is ridiculous.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Found it interesting that in the Universal Studios survey yesterday there were more than a few questions asking what if they changed the indoor stores to outdoor stores. Maybe that will be prevalent in both.

This is my plan. I'll be the stupid one, then I don't have to worry about anyone else!

    WDW Reopening Estimates

Lol. These assured accounts of what will happen are comedy. We don't know. Maybe opening without a profit is the first step to ramping up to profit? Maybe it adds to the brand and overall bottom line? And is 50% capacity not profitable? Funny to see how critical people are when we are all...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Is this impacted at all by how much we've ramped up testing since mid March? And what's the percentage of these positive cases that require critical care? My understanding is that a very low percentage requires critical care, but am open to new info. Critical patients are really what should...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

Universal just sent me one of the longest surveys I've ever had. Lol. Covered my opinions on Covid -19, where I got my news, what my expectations are of reopening, what measures are most important to me, even asked if only Island OA was open and only the most popular rides were open and free...

Since they announced Singapore Disney opening roughly a week before, does tell us anything about how much notice we can expect for WDW?

I'm trying to be as immature as possible. And I exercise a lot. Best I can do as a Gen X'er.
