Driving down the east coast to WDW!

Wow! $400/pp is a lot for airfare. I totally understand wanting to avoid NYC airports since I used to live there (in the city...not in the airports), but if you can be a bit more flexible on airports, you could get a much better air price. Try White Plains or Philadelphia. I don't know when...

    Worst Meal at Disney

Worst meal was easily the Maya Grill at CSR. Ordered a chicken dish. The chicken was perfectly seared and brown on the outside...and completely raw on the inside. Imagine my surprise and disgust as I bit into it. Luckily, i did not get :hurl:

Need Your Thoughts! Give a Day/Get a Disney Day Fastpass

The good news-we're going to WDW the end of May for 4 days and plan to visit each park once. The better news - we have a voucher from the Give a Day/Get a Disney Day promotion that we'll use for the special Fastpass Exchange Card. (We already have multi-day tickets so we don't need a free...

A few questions regarding Trip Insurance

I guess everyone needs to make their own decision based on what risks they want to take. That said, we've traveled to the World about 20 times (generally 4 to 8 days each trip) and have never bought travel insurance. We've never had to cancel or interrupt a trip. By not buying the insurance...

    coronado springs or wilderness lodge?

CSR is our favorite moderate resort! The room refurbs were great, adding the queen beds, flat screen TVs and a long-necessary partition between the sink and bed areas. The food court's a little more upscale than other moderates (though it's also a bit more pricey than other moderates' food...

    1-Day Car Rental???

You remember correctly!:) It's at the Car Care Center and rents both Alamo and National cars. They'll also pick you up at your WDW hotel and drop you off after you return the car (the pick up/drop off hours aren't quite as long as the hours of the rental car agency).

Kali River Rapids - what is it like?

Definitely luck of the draw. Some people in your boat will get moderately wet - a bit more than most do on SM. One or two in your boat will get soaked. I agree it's too short, but it's still fun! BTW, on any water ride, the best way to tell how wet you'll get is.....go to the exit and watch...

    Best WDW Podcast?

WDW Today! Informative and funny. Favorite used to be Inside the Magic but recent changes to the podcast have downplayed some of the best segments (ride-throughs, That Anonymous Guy and Backstage Pass). Apart from the great host, that leaves more time for another regular contributor to the...

    Room rehab at CSR

We love CSR! It's our go-to moderate! We were just there late last month and were lucky enough to be the first guests in a room that had finsihed refurb the day before check-in. One negative - Marina was still closed even in the last week of June. Guess "open seasonally" translates to...

Trying to Decide On Birthday Dinner at 1900 Faire

We were there last night (just got back home today :() to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The food was surprisingly good. There were several different stations - one for Spanish food, one for Italian, one for French, one for a carving station, one for kids, one for desserts and one for . ...

    Accomodation Help

oooh, choices! AKL is our favorite resort! We always go there when we have the money. The Savannah rooms are best; pretty cool to look out your window and see animals roaming around. Even if you can't get one of those rooms, the resort is still worth it. Plenty of other spaces to watch...

    Magic Kingdom sit-down situation

The Plaza has good sandwiches, salads and burgers. That's pretty much it - simple, but good. We go there every trip for lunch. Try it!

    Magic Kingdom sit-down situation

How much, and what type, of food do you want? I think the Plaza is pretty yummy for lunch. It's a nice, simple menu, good lunch-appropriate portions and a cute turn of the century atmosphere. Plus, it's at the hub so it's pretty convenient no mater where you are. Enjoy!

Dining Plan- Is it REALLY worth it?

Absolutely right! :king: If you really want to, you can make your ADRs first and then go to a site like allears.net to figure out whether, based on what your family might be inclined to order, you'll save money. I did that and estimate that we'll save $50 to $150 over 7 days. Here are a few...

Question about Opening of HS, AK & Epcot

They walk you back to the Safari, too! When we were there this past January, we had a pre-park opening breakfast at Tusker House. We finished in time to be at the front of the hold area to go to the Safari and saw this huuge mass of people being led our way! It was fun knowing we were in front!
