  • On the other BIG news front - I got a call for and had an interview for a job yesterday! It's with the CCSD at Lewis ES as an ASP Instructor. I think the interview went well and now I'm just playing the waiting game. I'll let you know how it turns out!
We've only seen AKL in pictures and videos so I am very excited to see it in person (?).

So, I made all our ADR's yesterday and yet it couldn't possibly go off without a hitch, naturally. Even though I had NO trouble with any other ADR's I couldn't get one at Mama Melrose's at all. So as a back-up I made one at Sci-Fi. Then I called and the CM said she didn't see any availble but said she'd check on the list of names. Well, there wasn't one so she said she'd call IT and to try back in 24-48 hours once they updated the system. I tried again before Sean got up for school and again, nothing. So, I called and the CM found one for 5:10 pm, much earlier than I wanted but we all enjoyed our meal there so I took it and rearranged the rest of our ADR's for that day. (Had to make them all earlier.) So, now we're all set! And I did remember to make Chef Mickey's for 5 people! :sohappy:
Well, I tried and no luck! Good thing though because I was too tired to stay up till midnite and then I didn't get on till after 10 am so I would've screwed myself up getting on so late! LOL, but tonite I try again!

Tristan's party was a success! I think the kids all had fun. It wasn't too bad for me either. Big Pie pizza, and the chocolate cake from Costco was to die for! OMG, so amazing. I bought chips but they never got to them. I was glad I decided no on a big sleepover. I was so tired this morning. And I had to work today and simply DID NOT want to go in.

Oh, I made some changes (not Chef Mickey's though) and now we are eating at Boma again. I really want to see the AKL!
Well, Tristan turned 14 yesterday! His party is tomorrow and naturally I have to work all weekend. Short hours but still it cuts into my day. He's not having a big sleepover this year but he's having friends over for pizza, cake (the big, round chocolate one from Costco!) & ice cream and playing the xbox. And then he'll have a couple of friends sleepover.

I'm going to try and call tomorrow and just SEE if I can start making my ADR's. LOL, can't hurt, right?

I got a message today about a job at Lewis Elementary for an ASP Instructor. I called right back and had to leave a voice mail. So, if she doesn't call Mon. I'm going to call again myself. Although it's only PT it would get my foot in the door and it would also be steady hours! Wish me luck!!
I worked Fri-today. I don't like when I don't get at least one weekend day off. Oh well. My job search has continued although with no luck, I'll keep plugging along.

Well, we should be paying off our trip either tomorrow or Wed. AND I make our ADR's next Mon! I'm anxiously awaiting that date!

Can't be on long tonite, Sean needs the computer to start a project and I need to take some headache meds. I think I have a headache because I forgot to take my allergy med this morning.

Hope all is well there for you. Glad to see you're making some extra money for yourself!
Well, a phony revote was worse than no vote at all. What were they doing? Humoring us angry parents? Don't they remember they were voted in? Not smart. But I have a feeling it's not over yet.
Well, all that's needed is 1 vote to change it. Wouldn't it be hard to believe that this uproar couldn't change at least 1 persons minds, especially knowing they are voted in by us?

Thanks for the update, by the way. I'll keep my fingers crossed, we'll see how it goes.......
I don't know if it would do any good to contact our SB member or not. It still completely galls me that the board members completely disregarded what "the people" wanted. Lotsa nerve I say. I also wonder what small interest group they are serving cause it wasn't us. Or the teachers. Or the students. And on and on and on......
Just a quick note - I saw in the paper that the CCSB could possibly rescind the calender BUT I'm not getting my hopes up. Like I said before, I wonder if they're bringing it up only to let the world know that the issue is permanently tabled. I had such a strong feeling before that the board was going to change calender and I kind of have the same feeling now. I don't know if it's because that's how I feel or if I'm afraid to get my hopes up. I just don't know. We'll see, but like it's said in ALL the Star Wars movies, "I've got a bad feeling about this...."
We have only tried the ABC Commisary and Pizza Planet in HS and I wouldn't reccomend either at all. At ABC the food was very bland and Pizza Planet had some of the worst pizza. I always say it tasted like bad frozen pizza which is bad because you can get some good frozen pizza at the grocery store! We did do Hollywood and Vine character dinner once though. It was loud and chaotic but the food was decent.

Are you going early to Epcot? We won't be going real early because that's the night they have the EMH for Epcot. We are going for a good breakfast at GF Cafe with my Dad and Barbara, his girlfriend and then I'm not sure when they are leaving, after breakfast or lunch, so I'm not sure if they will head to the park with us or not.
    Fri - Epcot: WS
    B - GF Cafe
    L - Via Napoli
    D - Rose & Crown
    Sat - DTD
    B/L - Beaches & Cream

Have you seen the Vinylmation? I saw some online at the Disney Store and I think I might want to collect them! Oh no, yet another thing I want, lmao!
    Here is our revised schedule:

    Sat - Epcot: FW
    L - Kona Cafe
    D - La Cantina
    Sun - DTD
    B - 'Ohana
    L - Planet Hollywood
    D - Chef Mickey's
    Mon - Pool/HS
    B - Capt. Cooks
    L - 50's
    D - Mama Melrose's
    Tue - Typhoon Lagoon
    B - Kona Cafe
    L - Leaning Palm
    D - Garden Grill

    Thu - MK
    B - Main St. Bakery

    D - Maya Grill
Well, after 3 trips I finally realized that Epcot needs to be done over 2 days. It makes for a loooong day if you try to get in the rides and do FW and WS properly and not rush through because you still have to get through the other part of Epcot. Although I can see how MK needs to be done in 2 days. We haven't done that. Yet.

I can understand your ambivilence over going without Lindsay. I think though you'll be okay as long as she doesn't change her mind. Then I think you'll have a real problem. Just remember - she wants you to go and have fun!

I think you're right about driving though. I strongly believe flight prices are going to soar, especially by Sept.
I forgot to tell you - we also scrapped Le Cellier but mainly because they took prime rib off the menu and that was the main reason we were going there because Lee looooves prime rib. Maybe in the future we'll go but I don't know if we'll go "Signature" or not.

Speaking of shopping lists - I ordered Sean some stuff from the Disney store online. In honor of "Platypus Day" on the Disney channel they had all their Perry stuff on sale so I got Sean a Perry beach towel and bathing suit. I was surprised he wanted the bathing suit but he said he liked it.
    Yak & Yeti counter, lunch
California Grill, dinner (& hopefully fireworks!)
    Main St. Bakery, breakfast
    The Plaza Restaurant, lunch
    Maya Grill, dinner
    Grand Floridian Cafe, breakfast
    Via Napoli, lunch (yay!)
    Rose & Crown, dinner
    Beaches & Cream

I tried to stay where we were except for a couple of dinners. I can't wait. I did have to cross off a few places due to the changes but I'm still happy and excited with our outcome. What do you think?
    Our dining list -
    Kona Cafe, breakfast and lunch
La Cantina de San Angel, dinner
    'Ohana, breakfast
    Planet Hollywood, lunch
    Chef Mickey's, dinner (Yay!)
Capt. Cooks, a couple of times for a quick breakfast
    50's Prime Time, lunch
    Mama Melsrose's, dinner
    Leaning Palm, lunch
    Garden Grill, dinner
We are leaving on the 16th to start on the 17th. I asked two different CM's about what date I could call and both said the 21st.

And I can definitely confirm that Sept. can be HOT. Not just hot, but swelteringly hot. Yay. In '09 on our day in AK it was so hot and humid any time we were outside I felt like I was melting. That was the worst day though, thankfully.

Where are you eating then? I'm gonna send you our new, revised list since I revamped to include EMH.

I have now started my list for shopping for our WDW needs. Things like Crocs, bathing suits and things like so that I can't buy all at once and can stretch out over time.
Well, I thought that I had our whole dining schedule worked out and then Le Cellier changed their menu! Dang it! They took prime rib off the menu and that was the main reason we were eating there, so now we're not eating there at all it's been replaced by Garden Grill and we axed the Flying Fish Cafe for the Maya Grill that does have prime rib. ......sigh......maybe I'm done now? LOL....
What's the old saying - "You can pick your friends but you can't pick your family." My mom wants to "work things out" over email. Once again, I'm shaking my head because there's no point, she doesn't take things in, she just finds a retort. The funny thing is - I've told her that and guess what? She doesn't listen to why I don't want to bother!

I'm so glad you liked the Passporter! I just love it, I go through it again and again and read about all the hotels and food and parks. I love the pockets and planners in the back, too. I use them to plan our days or remind me of something I want to do. After our trips I consider it a souvenier too!

Well, now all I have to do is wait for the 21st to get here to make our reservations. I just can't believe it's March already!
