It's nice to see the fountain return to its original form, but the park is still CHAPEK Center.
Dressing it up in 80s iconography doesn't excuse all the poor decisions leading up to now.
Can we just have a moment this moment for once? It's the only positive news we had in months.
The thing that makes me instantly not care about that show is how everything we've seen and heard is literally just music from Disney/Pixar movies. Even though I'm sure we'll get some kind of original main theme, it's not going to be enough for me to care about it. Well...if I could get a special view of the show maybe. No kidding! It’s bittersweet because the plans show this team doesn’t understand the values of Epcot at all*, but the fountain prism is still beautiful.
But you know they’re looking at our reactions and saying, “See? It’s a success! The fans love it! Now slap preschool themes onto everything that’s left!” (I kid, I kid.)
*a night show celebrating how cultures influence Disney music and vice-versa? Really? Can it get any more corporate than that?
But where else can you hear these Disney songs? It's not like many people have access to a streaming service with Disney music or YouTube. This is why World Showcase must change, because people can just read Wikipedia about countries but they can't just listen to music or watch movies anywhere. The thing that makes me instantly not care about that show is how everything we've seen and heard is literally just music from Disney/Pixar movies. I'm sure it'll be a technological marvel though.
At least RoL (originally) had a great soundtrack. RoE had an amazing score that could stand on its own.

Except at the Magic Kingdom.Well not with accompanying fireworks anyway.![]()
Any word on what is going on with the spine redesign or what it will look like? Also is there any plans for energy edutainment in GoTG? I feel like we are going to be surprised with that.Indeed. The proposed throwbacks, nods, and retro merchandise are an attempt to appease fans of the park whilst systematically destroying it. However, taken in isolation this is an absolutely wonderful thing.
Now if the spine redesign is redesigned again for the better, I will ride Guardians of Energy

Party pooper. Both you and @Magic Feather had originally referred to it as Infinite Universe. So, if that's it. Cat. Bag.![]()
@MisterPenguin reckons it’s Infinite Universe for some reason...What was the original name? I’m assuming something that had more to do with Energy?
As of this week still TBC.Any word on what is going on with the spine redesign or what it will look like?

I dunno, Cosmic Rewind has both the fun of referencing the reverse launch and is a nod to a cassette tape and music, which is a huge part of the movies. Infinite Universe doesn't necesarily sound like something for Guardians of the Galaxy, but Cosmic Rewind doesInfinite Universe is still a cooler name than Cosmic Rewind. You know, now would be a good time to switch it back, "retooling" due to the pandemic and all. Just saying.
'Cosmic Rewind' sounds like the name of a badly conceived retro night club.

I think that’s the idea. If this is going to be shoehorned into EPCOT then at least name it something that sounds like a ride at EPCOT would be named. But instead let’s name it like a Six Flags attraction and give away the thrill of the attraction in the name. The attractions name, like its showbuilding, have no idea what subtlety mean.I dunno, Cosmic Rewind has both the fun of referencing the reverse launch and is a nod to a cassette tape and music, which is a huge part of the movies. Disney doesn't own the IP (yet) for us to make that jokeEveryone needs to thank Dr. Nichols from Plexicorp for the new prism pylons![]()
I am glad, because if they did buy it, it would probably be ruinedDisney doesn't own the IP (yet) for us to make that joke![]()
