A Change In Strategy

In my mind, the easiest and most obvious fix for Wonders of Life is, like many others have said, to convert it into a Weather pavillion.

Body Wars can be retrofitted to become a clone of Tokyo Disney Sea's Stormrider, you can have an exhibit for global warming and climate change, and another that simulates different weather conditions. Have it sponsored by one of these up and coming green companies like Vestas (power of the wind!) and BOOM there you go!

All that would be left is a repainting of the Pavillion and maybe a prop on the roof like a weather satilite antena and there you. Pavillion revitalized

Sounds nice. I just wonder what they would do with the rest of the pavilion...

- We're currently looking at a new E-Ticket thrill ride for Magic Kingdom which will coincidentally expand the park's area for the first time in over 20 years. This will not create a new "land" and is not "Bald Mountain."

- At Hollywood Studios, a new Pixar-based Roller Coaster has the green light and the Pixar Studios area will enter a phase 2 in construction which will expand its border to Streets of America. A new Star Tours experience is on the way, and there's still more...

- At Animal Kingdom, plans are a bit more longterm... but only because Camp Minnie-Mickey's days are numbered.

I also can tell you about some changes planned for the way options work with the Magic Your Way tickets, but we'll save that for another day.

Have a great day everyone.
What do you mean by "bald mountain"????:veryconfu

Am I the only one not excited about a weather pavilion? I really just think that the idea is OK, coming from a pavilion that was truly informative about fitness and health, a message that we as Americans could truly use today.

Sure, it would be an easier conversion, but I just don't think it will be as wonderful as people envision it as.

No I agree too it doesnt excite me all that much but sure would be better than the current state of WoL. I would have liked to have seen Soarin as part of an avaiation themed pavilion and in its own building and pavilion instead of the traffic nightmare that is part of the Land now.

Well, ANYTHING is better than having another open, unused pavilion. It just doesn't make me jump up and down for joy.

Exactly. I just think it's a fan dream to be honest.

I'm sorry but how do you figure that this would be the easiest route to take? WOL's main attractions are all film based. At the very minimum, the pavilion just needs new films, decor and a modern version of the fitness fairgrounds. That's the easiest route and one that I doubt would cause too much of an uproar.

As a side note, StormRider's simulators are bigger than BW's, not to mention that they also include lots of in-cabin effects.

Finally, does a weather pavilion not seem redundant with The Land already existing? I mean, the opening scene of Living with the Land is a rainstorm for god sake.

You're not alone and I agree with your thoughts 100%.

And that sounds like it might cost 30 Mil...? I think so.

I completely agree with you. The idea of a weather is far from exciting in my mind and health is alot more creative. Plus, Epcot is in Florida. Do we really need to be reminded of the constant Hurricanes we get each year?

Guests would probably find it exciting. As would possible sponsors.
How impressive is it?
Storm Rider is everything Star Tours should be.

I haven't had the fortune to travel to tokyo and see it but here a video to give you the general idea:

I gotta admit, that's pretty cool. Having a weather pavilion doesn't seem so bad now. By the looks of it though, the only problems with Stormrider is the over the top storyline and the size of the vehicles. Body Wars's probes were half that size. To be honest, the theater for Stormrider kind of looks like the theater for NASA's new simulator.
