I saw it a couple times, once alone because my husband was out of town and then I went again with him. I enjoyed it. It was entertaining and I loved all the attraction details that were put in.
I loved seeing the actual haunted mansion from Orlando in it!!! Its my favourite ride. Just left Disneyland in Anaheim, it was closed for the Nightmare before Christmas overlay the whole time we were there:(

Yesterday, I bought a cowboy ribeye steak for us, and grilled it outdoors. Yum city! (Prices at the butcher shop are crazy, so we only get this as a rare summer treat. :hungry: )

Anyway, while at the shop, I noticed something I never saw before -- huge, I mean HUGE, steaks called Tomahawk steaks?! They looked almost 3 inches thick, and I can't guess the weight of them. Anyone else heard of these before?

Looked like this -- :p

It's a rib steak with the rib bone left intact it and then frenched. The boys think they're cool. IMHO it's a cash grab, same as frenched lamb chops that look like lollipops as frenching is easily done at home

Never heard of that culinary term before, but it never surprises me what you come up with! :joyfull: And, of course, the boys think these steaks are cool. Have they ever convinced you to buy one? Even with their appetites, one of these would be more than enough for the two of them! :p

I’ve seen tomahawk steaks on menus, at WDW actually but never ordered them. It is usually billed as a steak for two people to share.

I saw the Haunted Mansion movie today at the cinema. I liked it, ties in well with the ride at MK. Has anyone else seen it?
I saw it and was pleasantly surprised. It was different (then the last HM movie), had thousands of easter eggs and actually exciting in story line, events and endings. 👻👻👍

That happened to me years back except for the timing. I made my only trip to Disneyland because my planned trip to New Orleans had to be cancelled because of Katrina. I decided to go there instead because my favorite at WDW was the Haunted Mansion and I wanted to see how it differed in Disneyland. When I got to the park, like yourself the original was closed for the change over to Nightmare Before Christmas. The next day the overlay opened. I never cared for the Nightmare franchise but since I was there I might as well see it. To be honest I hated it, so I had a double whammy of not enjoying the overlay and not ever getting to see the original Disneyland HM other than via video. Why people want that to be in WDW is not comprehensible to me. The attraction is closed for a couple months changing to the overlay and at the end another two months when they put it back. That means that close to 1/3rd of the year the place is closed for the change over. It doesn't seem worth it. If the demand is there for a "Nightmare" attraction why not just build one.

I agree Minnie... I've heard the word "frenching" before but it had absolutely nothing to do with ribs or steak. We must remember that @Figgy1 comes from a different culinary planet then the rest of us. I don't think I have ever seen her mention a food product or quantities that I ever heard of outside of a few canning items. 🤔

Wasn't that last month? We're the only state that celebrates it and it's in August.

Personally, if August 14th is a state holiday, May 8th should be one too. May 8th is when Germany officially surrendered.

Yes, Germany unconditionally surrendered in the west on may 7th, and the east on May 9th, so the official surrender date was set as May 8th 1945, which was V-E day.
Japan finally unconditionally surrendered aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo bay on September 2nd 1945, after we dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki (Little Boy and Fat Man) on August 6th and 9th, respectively. Thus, V-J Day.
Germany invaded Poland on September 1st 1939, so WWII officially lasted 6 years and 1 day.

I hadn't heard of these before but than I don't eat red meat. How would you cook a piece of meat that big?

Once they convinced a friend of mine to let them each order one while we were out. and I don't want to talk about how little came home with them
