Cold front at about 2:30a…funny thing is, we don’t run our central AC at night, because it works so hard during the day, especially with MIL now living here…!!!!! :hilarious:

So funny story, a few weeks ago, my mom showed me a Youtube video of one of those for some reason, not sure how we got on the topic, and that was when I learned that is why credit cards have the characters ridged on them. See, for as long as I've been alive, credit cards have pretty much been taken by computer; I have no memory of those things. So I had to admit that I always thought the characters on a credit card were ridged so blind people could identify them. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Yeah, that was my millennial moment.
Actually, that was a reasonable guess on your part, (even if it wasn't why the numbers were raised.)

What others forgot to mention as well, was this phenomenon: the sales clerks used to look at your signature on the sales receipt, and "compare" it to the signed signature on the back side of your credit card. That step was abandoned years ago, but I remember it gave a modicum of relief to know that they checked to see that no one else had absconded with your card. (I think there were some clerks who took this step seriously, while others would just say o.k., regardless. ;) )

I first saw him in concert here in Austin in ‘81 on his Coconut Telegraph tour, and he was awesome…!!!
Funny thing is, Carolyn was at the same concert, but, we didn’t know each other then, and were dating other people.
I need a drink. After all, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere. RIP, Jimmy Buffett.
I still have this t-shirt around here somewhere…

That is unexpected. I heard of him from a music standpoint, his Margaritaville chain for resorts and eating places.

His resorts/ homes were prizes for Wheel of Fortune.
