I think they should've rethemed Splash Mountain from Song of the South to Country Bears (not the 2002 movie), so we wouldn't have to complain about changing MK Frontierland.

My takeaway from this thread is that the new retheme does indeed have a villain.

The ONLY seasoned and PROVEN imagineer I have seen mentioned is Tony Baxter. They dont have any current ones that I can think of since Rhode left Disney. Its too bad Wally Crump and Bob Gurr are in there 90's.

I wasn't going on info that Disney has claimed. I didn't believe Baxter was actually substantially involved until an independent source verified it for me (the source itself also didn't believe it either at first until they did some digging). Same source also said Weis was involved too, something Disney never stated publicly.

This makes me think, was Splash stuff considered for the 50th but put on the chopping block after what happened? Because this design lines up with the art they did for the anniversary merchandise.

I just saw an old add for Splash and it made me remember a question I’ve had.
When looking at the drop, directly to the right is a path/que. Wasn’t this used as an entrance at some point? I remember as a kid right after 9/11 going up that way.

Ok Kim Irvine I did forget about. The other 2 dont ring any bells. But what has Disney Imagineering created that really has RUNG any Bells??? SWGE its confused..... Pandora is neat? TSL (love Pixar) but not so much the rides.

Yeah the WDW Tiana ride very much seems like an afterthought like a last minute of course Magic Kingdoms Splash is getting changed too and it always was!

WDW's Splash is superior and improves upon DL's in every way, it does a better job of immersing you in the world of the Br'er Rabbit stories.

It's harder to top an A+ ride than an A- ride. Both good, but WDWs is legendary.
