Exactly. There is a reason it is the only Disney stateside theme park to have constant food and concert events as well as an after 4pm pass for a long time. I am a Public Educator out in the middle of nowhere USA and when I hear of families going to Florida, they always cut out or mention they did not go to EPCOT.

It was funny, I took my in-laws to an evening at EPCOT a few years ago because of hopping, otherwise their their 4 days spent at the other parks would never have let them there and my father-in-law in the evening around World Showcase said "(This is what I pictured Downtown DIsney being like, lots of themed shopping and dining)

That says it all right there. Really well themed food and shopping for most of the park in most people's eyes with decaying so so in other spots and as you said, too little too late for some whizbangs to carry all of the weight.

It is also the largest park, capacity wise, so another reason why they would have the convention tickets and after 4 tickets for there as well - if interest in Epcot was the same as the other parks there would still be more space there than the other parks

Epcot is also my favorite park so I am obviously biased for it

Universal Beijing cost more than Shanghai Disney. They’re spending over $6 billion on the South Campus.

This is misleading without more information with it.

Universal Beijing has a bigger acreage than Shanghai Disney, and do not forget it was constructed six years later Shanghai Disneyland was under construction far before and opened in 2016. Universal Beijing is larger and ...much completed in Pandemic year 2020 that fell over six years later. Even with that Shanghai Disneyland still cost more with inflation alone.

To your second part, the six billion Epic Universe estimate is for the entire project, not just the park and its attractions.

The theme Park, large onsite hotel. new shopping district, back of house operations and all of the new administration and warehouses, and Transporation logistics between the two resort properties all on a "plot" that is twice of the size of the acreages their current resort sits on that will have the infastructure for more theme parks and resort hotels in the future.

Universal still delivers more for less.

I would've agreed like a month ago when CR was performing amazingly, but CR has been really performing bad for the past couple days/weeks.

For the past two days, the ride performed operationally at its worst since it opened. Down 37% of the day yesterday, and 36% day before. The ride shut down yesterday around 6pm and never reopened.

And because of this, the afternoon 1pm drop has been filling quicker than the morning 7am drop, which is unheard of.

Reliability has sadly taken a turn for the worst with Guardians.

Any idea why that is? When we were there in June it seemed, to me anyway, reliable. We were at Epcot 3 of the days on our trip, hopped twice, and I don’t remember hearing it go down. But the info you have been posting is really concerning on its hold up.

In my personal opinion, the only single day ticket you can justify is the magic kingdom. Even with star wars, the studios is a tough sell for a single day in my eyes.
I feel the same way, even though AK is my fave park of the 4 its not an all day, neither is Epcot or DHS, MK is barely....and even then just barely

For real: this conversation has been interesting…

But I’d much rather go to Epcot on my trip over DHS.
We considered a single Epcot day when we were on a Uni vacation last year. But for the price and the fact it was mainly a want to visit WS, we decided it would be better to wait. I'm slightly surprised Disney hasn't separated access yet. Pay X price for WS only, or visit the entire park for Y.

That would be an operational issue. They'd have to have ticket gates between the World Showcase and former Future World, and scan everybody going between the two.

Not the best quality photo but I noticed from the peoplemover today that they’ve started pouring a new pathway beyond the railroad tunnel. I’ll go around again in a bit to get a couple more photos.

Also, the canopy is starting to look a bit grimy in some spots.
Was about to say it looks a bit dirty. Hope they'll be cleaning that construction dust off before they're done. Doesn't bode well. It'll end up with the green slime the WoL pavilion was plastered with.

I would assume so. The guardians building seems to be cleaned fairly regularly as the last time I saw noticeable grime on it was during construction. Although on the other hand, SM doesn’t get cleaned as often as it should so we’ll just have to see. I do hope they power wash Space at least before Tron opens though.

Cleaning is a pretty standard feature of construction contracts.

man wouldnt it be cool if that smaller building off the pathway that is probably bathrooms or lockers, had an elevator taking you down, onto that path under the elevated walkway and onto the massive courtyard area beyond the train tracks and n front of the canopy. I am still kinda wondering what that area will look like because you will clearly be seeing it from the elevated walkway.

I can’t imagine that path isn’t backstage. It probably leads to the nearby electrical substation or something.
