The states of the USA can mandate vaccines for everyone of their state. This is settled Supreme Court law. This precedent is why so many suits trying to block mandates get shot down by the courts as it gets extended to employees of the government and private businesses.
Assign a nursing student to a existing nurse serving as a personal preceptor. Use existing nurses as force multipliers.

The problem isn’t numbers of patients, it’s lack of staff. With this kind of spread, staffing shortages create the service crises. And next week when numbers are through the roof (because Omicron is just getting started here), you’ll have a combination of more patients and not enough staff.
Not everyone has to test everyday. People who are retired, work at home, work in small offices, work in environments where they aren’t close to other people don’t need to test. Some are already tested regularly. My husband tests weekly because he’s a hospice chaplain. I test vicariously through him! If I don’t have symptoms and he tests negative, we assume we’re good. Not perfect but better than nothing - we also follow protocols strictly. 500,000,000 isn’t much, it’s true, but right now, it would be a huge help for people who need tests and can’t get one.

Yes, they can, but a minority of governors have already had laws passed preventing any mandates. Again, the minority, but people in those states travel all over, so a mandate in one may not help much if there is no mandate in the state next door. I personally think it should be a national mandate, since it is a public health crisis. Vaccine passports as well are fine with me. Start excluding the unvaccinated from lots of places, and some will eventually change their minds. Of course, that's after their lawsuits have been struck down in the courts.

Yep. I think the feds have pushed mandates as far as they can under our laws. Heck, they may have pushed too far…we will see on that.

The TP situation was in part due to people hoarding. Putting limits helped. We actually were running out right when it happened along with some other supplies. We had planned to go to Florida for spring break when it all shut down, so some items we were just going to buy upon return. We found what we needed. But geez people hoarding makes it so much worse. Side story. So we are flying to Canada tomorrow to visit family for Christmas. Specifically my grandfather who will be turning 96. I haven’t seen him in several years now so it will be good to be with him. He has a few great grandchildren he hasn’t met yet too.
Yeah I wish I had sensed edginess more than a week or so ago about it from out family. I would've been at it longer. I just chatted last night and bluntly said if they want tests, it's a no go here. If anyone knows me here, I'm rather middle ground about it all anyway. Omicron doesn't freak me out, but I respect those who worry. As long as they aren't obnoxious up the brain type of tests, (I have to do those personally for the trial) I'm not going to balk at doing it much. Just now impossible to do any at all. Though I do think asymptomatic testing isn't the best if doing rapid tests. My husband asked what they would do if a positive came up, just go home? Anyway sorry for my rant.
The Constitution must be followed no matter what happens. If the President can break the Constitution in one area there is nothing that can stop him or her from breaking it elsewhere. Keep in mind that if it weren't for freedom of speech in the 60's and 70's we would not have gay rights. It was freedom of speech in the late 1800's and early 1900's that led to women gaining the right to vote.
Where in the Constitution does it say that the federal government, or more specifically the Executive Branch, can mandate vaccines? This is why challenges are being heard in the Supreme Court - to clarify both questions.
