I don't think any of us would have a kind word to say about such individuals. They're not the ones I have any interest in defending. Rather, it's statements to the effect that all unvaccinated people are stupid and expendable ("I don't care if they die") that bother me.I was speaking solely of those whoās entire agenda is to spread misinformation, which preys on minorities who are already hesitant and fearful of vaccines and or medicine. Itās a very challenging dynamic in those groups.
Thank you, I appreciate it, and I'm sorry for not acknowledging the compliment sooner. Coming from you (ever the genial sweetheart), it means a lot.And I am not sure if I jumped in at the wrong time, as my entire post was about admiring how you seek out the positive, seek the best, and ask for kindness. Which I agreed with.
Iām starting to wonder? I was just looking at vaccinated data and in every age group fully
vaccinated lags behind one dose by around 10-15%.
Makes me wonder if thereās that many uninformed people that think one dose was all they need. They clearly arenāt anti-vax because they got the first dose, something is preventing them from returning though.
If it was 1-2% Iād say laziness but 10-15% seems more like uninformed.
We specifically arenāt, though. It should be understood through context by now that we donāt have to specify exemptions, such as the medically excused, underaged, etc. when we refer to āthe unvaccinated.ā We shouldnāt have to spell those out every time anymore.whether you realise it or not, also talking about individuals that belong to certain historically marginalised communities
Precisely.I was speaking solely of those whoās entire agenda is to spread misinformation, which preys on minorities who are already hesitant and fearful of vaccines and or medicine. Itās a very challenging dynamic in those groups.
But ethnic minorities are not the ones out there actively endangering others, or working to misinform.
And I am not sure if I jumped in at the wrong time, as my entire post was about admiring how you seek out the positive, seek the best, and ask for kindness. Which I agreed with.
I just also understand how many are frustrated and over a segment of people actively misinforming, who we seem to no longer have a way to engage with.
Then we three seem to be pretty much all in agreement, really.I don't think any of us would have a kind word to say about such individuals. They're not the ones I have any interest in defending.
No, I don't think that's the case. We wouldn't be here this many pages on if it were, and the posters I responded to would have offered clarifications if I'd misrepresented their remarks. In any case, I think everyone concerned has made their point, and I for one am moving on.We specifically arenāt, though. It should be understood through context by now that we donāt have to specify exemptions, such as the medically excused, underaged, etc. when we refer to āthe unvaccinated.ā We shouldnāt have to spell those out every time anymore.
Precisely.
Then we three seem to be pretty much all in agreement, really.
Do you not agree? Do you think it's good that the tests were destroyed?Lol. I cant tell if youāre being sarcastic so I will just leave it.
Don't agree with everything in the article, but decent read.
You just donāt actually describe how plowing forward works, which leads to the assumption that you just want others to have to work harder and not inconvenience you. This was the essence of my plow forward post. Iām not making light of Covid. Iām vaccinated and so is my family including two young daughters (10/7) but i have a hard time believing Covid-zero. Itās just not going away.
If you want to use case counts as all of your indicators, we will never move forward.
Plow forwards to start thinking like February 2020 and letās be together again without the fear of catching Covid and ending up in the hospital and dying. You just donāt actually describe how plowing forward works, which leads to the assumption that you just want others to have to work harder and not inconvenience you.
But behaving like itās February 2020 would put lots of people in hospital. Thatās what weāre trying to avoid.Plow forwards to start thinking like February 2020 and letās be together again without the fear of catching Covid and ending up in the hospital and dying.
So what do you do about hospitals that are full? You just tell the employees to keep working harder while you do nothing? Do you deny care to certain people?Plow forwards to start thinking like February 2020 and letās be together again without the fear of catching Covid and ending up in the hospital and dying.
Iām not sure how Iām putting you at risk by thinking that, but Iām open to understand your perspective.
I guess I just donāt get it. Are the vaccines not working? Do they prevent severe illness and death or not?So what do you do about hospitals that are full? You just tell the employees to keep working harder while you do nothing? Do you deny care to certain people?
Youāre putting others at risk by advocating for actions that leads to overwhelmed hospitals. There are people in excruciating pain that will be alleviated with surgery, but you are telling us you want them to continue suffering because you donāt want to bother anymore?
You donāt get that hospitals have filled up and had to delay and deny care?I guess I just donāt get it. Are the vaccines not working? Do they prevent severe illness and death or not?
There are tens of millions of unvaccinated Americans. If large numbers of them end up in hospital, the effects will be felt by society at large. That is why it is senseless to pretend that the unvaccinated can just be ignored or damned to their own fate.I guess I just donāt get it. Are the vaccines not working? Do they prevent severe illness and death or not?
Then build more space. Put up a temp hospital space. Kind of like people did in the past. You donāt get that hospitals have filled up and had to delay and deny care?
They need about billion per week if they were serious. This would allow serious preemptive testing.Itās embarrassing. āWe didnāt anticipate a winter surge from a new variant that we have been warning about since forever.ā
We have about 300MM people in the US. How are you going to make a meaningful impact with 3 tests for every 2 people? They could mail out a billion test kits Tgi people and some here will say why isnāt it 2 billion. They can say we are including a 2 thousand dollar check with each kit and some here will say why isnāt it 3 thousand. Itās so predictable.
Why donāt we say it would be nice if it was more but thatās a start. Maybe this is just a start and more will happen. Anything helps.
