Zootopia at Animal Kingdom?

I think Sea World's Antarctica area (the ride itself excepted) is about the best stab at that sort of thing one could expect in a Florida theme park, and the temperature is just too big of a disconnect.

I think it could work if the land was entirely indoors, like Mermaid Lagoon at TDS and the penguin exhibit itself at Sea World. I'd even be perfectly fine with them gutting and reusing the Planet Watch building for it, though I'm not entirely sur ehow large that building is and what essential services work out of there.

Granted, Disney doesn't seem to want to pay for AC lately, so they probably wouldn't be willing to spend the money that it would take to make such a thing work well.

I have come to the conclusion that Zootopia would not make a good land period. As someone already alluded to, without the animals living like humans in the city, it really won't have any sense of place. It will look like a generic city. It is better suited as an attraction where you can be immersed in an anthropomorphic animal world (see Splash Mountain). Even as an attraction, it is not a fit for AK without a radical shift in either AK's core philosophy or Zootopia's major storyline.

I wholeheartedly agree Zootopia has no place in AK.

But a generic city it is not.

The design of the city is incredibly imaginative and would lend itself perfectly for an immersive theme park land / attraction.

Those neighborhoods, yes, but the central core, no. A large dark ride could, in essence, do the same thing. Zootopia is not an IP with enough staying power to devote a whole land to.

That's a different discussion altogether
I'm not advocating they built it, but design-wise, Zootopia is the perfect contender for an immersive land.

Just like Radiator Springs, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
All fully realized towns/streets/neighborhoods that translate organically to theme parks

Umm not a chance. If you look at the locations in the film they were scaled to size of the inhabitants as well as thier abilities and climate preferences.

If they are gonna do an IP that really doesn’t fit AK at least let it be something epic like Indy or Wakanda.

lol exactly.

I'd love to walk around Zootopia, but that could just be me. I don't want to do it in Animal Kingdom though.

But they've proven to us they don't care (Guardians, and many others, say "Hi") so I imagine it's a possibility. Let's hope not.

No it’s not just you. I think Zootopia could be really fun...but like you I don’t want it at AK. Something like Wakanda though could be so epic I couldn’t care less where they put it as long as they put it somewhere. My only requirement is that they go full Pandora on it. It needs to be big budget and fully immersive or they shouldn’t do it at all...imo.

Nor would guests want to spend that long in such an installation.
Most people duck out of SeaWorld's Antarctica thing after 5 minutes in the cold as it is. Building it any larger in a state where few guests are dressed to be comfortable in there would be a waste.
