Ok Lisa, I'll call you Lisa . Well yeah you're right. My mom is the purchasing agent where she works and her boss is supposedly the purchasing manager. However, he got promoted to assistant plant manager, so now my mom is stuck with purchasing all by her lonesome. I love her boss and all, but he can be real lazy too  So it bugs me that on top of the work she has, people come to her giving her other things to do. Sometimes I get involved too because every day she calls me at least once to help her with an email she's writing.Wckd Queen said:Thanks Barnum and Regina for the nice words (you can call me Lisa, btw) and I know exactly what you are saying, but what happens is there is someone with whom the ultimate responsibility lies, and thats usually me (I bet its your mom too Regina  ) So, not picking up the slack is alot easier said than done. I have improved somewhat though. I no longer do any of the data entry. The old girl (Oh, I forgot) would not do it, banking on me doing it for her. The new girl does it without having to be reminded (YEAH for competent people! :sohappy: ). I finally flat out refused to do any 'clerk' work for what sits next to me and instead email him for what is missing, while copying HIS boss (works on occasion  ) Like Regina said, we are being paid for ONE job, not for our job PLUS everyone else's!
Good luck to your mom, Regina! Hoping a big fat BONUS comes her way!!![]()
There are a couple of perks for my mom being so "enthusiastic" about her work. Her boss basically lets her do whatever she wants, like taking days off whenever she wants or getting to work late and leaving early (she works more hours than she has to every day). Of course though there is a catch: My mom is a workoholic, and when she takes days off, she still works at home on the company lap top. So, when she's not at work, she's still working
